Nintendo announced 600,000 units of Wii were sold after the first 8 days the console was launched; and 454,000 copies of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess were sold. This makes Wii a 190 million dollars market in US. Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned that even with sales more than 600,000 units, the demand still exceeds the supply of Wii.

Nintendo has a winner in there hand.My only grip with the virtual console is that you can't download demo before buying the game.

I can't wait to get a Wii and have a single console filled to the brim with hardcore shooters, hopefully sega will stick some of the Saturn greats on there.

My one gripe is that Metal Slug anthology has seemingly fallen off the release day games list :(

i thought i saw metal slug at the store the other day?

so there will be original NES, SNES and genesis games availible for the wii? i would love to play the original ice hockey and zelda a link to the past. is there a hard drive for the wii?

"i thought i saw metal slug at the store the other day? "

I'm talking about the UK 0-day games

Get an Xbox and mod it.

Those release dates are wrong, or maybe just moved up already. Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda, and a few others were available the first time I checked, 2 days after launch.

Available for download right now: Sonic, Altered Beast, Ecco, Golden Axe, Bonk's Adventure, Bomberman '93 (not '94), Super Star Soldier, Super Mario 64, SimCity, F-Zero, Baseball, Donkey Kong, Pinball, Soccer, Wario's Woods, Solomon's Key.

So don't wait until those release dates to check it out.

You can use the Wiimote for the NES, Genesis, and Turbografx games. You have to use a Gamecube controller or the Classic controller for SNES or 64 games, and maybe for the 6-button Genesis games if they offer them.

Metal Slug is best in its original form on the Neo Geo AES. You can get Metal Slug 3 for Xbox, but it looks exactly the same as the Neo Geo series which began in 1990.

Reggie Fils-Aime revealed plans for Wii in North America in the coming year.

Nintendo will release 3 more titles for Wii by the end of March 2007, including WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Jan 2007), Wii Play (Jan 2007), and Mario Party 8 (Mar 2007). All 3 titles are compilations of mini games.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves contains a collection of seconds-long mini games

Wii Play contains 9 brief games such as Duck Hunt, it will come packed with an extra Wii controller (without Nunchuck). There is a contraption that turns the Wii controller into a Zapper gun

Super Mario Galaxy will be available sometimes between March - December 2007 (not very precise...)

Reggie confirmed there won't be a Wii console with built-in DVD player

EA's Godfather will be coming to Wii with a different control mechanism from other versions

Nintendo will release the first Wii online game in early 2007

Nintendo will have "Virtual Console Mondays" for Wii, a weekly release of virtual console games. There will be 30 more VC titles by the end of 2006

Certain classic games may not make it to Virtual Console due to licensing issues, such as GoldenEye and Tecmo Super Bowl (we all knew that)
