Has fought Jones, Anderson 2x, Shogun, Fedor, Filho, Bisping, Wandy, Rampage.
All champions in various orgs and won more than he lost. Not exactly a bad career...
This. Chael's strong personality attracts haters...but there's really no denying the fact that he made it to the top organization because at one point he definitely had skill and potential. I used to hate the guy but he's grown on me over the years...I'm a big fan now. He's intelligent and in my opinion contributes a lot to the sport.
You act like this is some big secret. The guys level of success is lightyears beyond where it should based on his fighting skill alone. I respect him for it. Do you pay his bills or support his family ? He did what he had to do to get ahead and it worked brilliantly. No shit he isn’t an elite level fighter. That’s not news. But the guy also showed up and fought everyone he could. We live in an era of people constantly ducking the hard fights and Chael never ever did. He did so much with his mouth and was a master promoter. To say he isn’t a fighter is a joke. Yes his skill level is not elite but the guy fights everyone. He is more of a fighter than every person on this thread combined times 7. He fought Fedor, Anderson Silva, and Jon Jones. And he has wins over Shogun, Rampage, Bisping, Wandy, Brian Stan, and Nate Marquardt.
True keyboard warrior talk at its best right here.
yeah chael didnt fight bisping. or okami. and he didnt beat andersons ass for almost 5 rounds. in fact anyone that has ever stepped in a ring or octagon and lost most or all fights isnt a fighter. especially if they talk shit.
his shit talk also benefited his opponents by giving them higher visibility among fans and in many cases higher pay. so yeah he sucks and isnt a fighter
I’m not really sure what the argument is here. He talks to sell fights. Anyone who’s been around the sport long enough knows his MO. It’s the same with a guy like Bisping.
Hes never said he was the GOAT. And the people you listed off as his losses are all in the GOAT conversation. He has literally fought killers for years and won more than lost. I like his attitude and we need more fighters like him.
TheThrill - i like chael even more now that he went for that leo roll on FUCKING FEDOR
ill try that shit on bluebelts in the gym occasionally, his dont give a fuck attitude extends all the way to fighting the GOATS (roll vs fedor, stupid elbow vs anderson)
the amount of balls that took, probably knowing in his own mind he only has a 25% chance of hitting it, is incredible to me
This. Even if he never got it and lost anyways, I love the attitude of this guy.
