AA Big Tim Cro Cop Big Nog x3 Werdum Bigfoot Prime Mark Coleman Randleman Herring
Coleman had already lost 3 in a row in ufc and was on the wrong side of 35...same with Monster.
Good job on conveniently failing to mention Coleman winning the biggest tournament in MMA history after that and Randleman knocking out Cro Cop in the first round in what was his most recent fight.
And no one who beat Coleman was in that tourney. And the fedor fight was 3 years later.
No one who had beat Wanderlei was in the 2003 MWGP either, does that mean his GP win now means nothing and it's not even worth bringing up?
You're going to have to try a little harder than that to prove Coleman wasn't still a world-class fighter who nobody had ever submitted that easily before or since.

Great point.
Also worth noting, Coleman didn't avenge those three loses, but someone did... Kevin Randleman. Apparently "Monster" sucks though. a win over him was nothing.
^ funny how Their accomplishments don't mean anything. You have no problem dragging out Coleman's losses, but Randleman's wins AFTER that don't mean anything.
Wonder why no one can take anything you say seriously? You're opinion is invalid.
Nice cherry picking stats. How about this? Coleman was 7-1 in his last 8 fights. Including beating #1 ranked Igor V. Randleman was 6-2 in his last 8, coming off a KO over Cro Cop. Pretty easy to see they were legit.
At any length. I wouldn't put Fedor in the top five for toughest opponents faced. Toughest opponents beaten? Yes. Neck and neck between him and Nog.

At the time they fought fedor those accomplishments didn't mean anything. They were both past their primes. Mark lost 3 straight in the ufc. Kev lost 2 of 3 in ufc and 2 of 3 before he faced fedor. No one can make a legit case for either being a legit challenge.
You keep repeating that they "didn't mean anything" without justifying why. What had happened over the course of those 3 years to make Coleman's win in the greatest tournament in the history of MMA (at that point) mean nothing?
Both were fantastic wrestlers, had won world titles, beaten the best and Fedor had never faced guys like either of them before he did. They were legit challenges in every sense of the word and nothing you can say will change that.

He got pretty lucky in the GP win, fujita quit instantly so Coleman had only one fight before fighting Igor. Plus Igor fought Saku and Goodridge that night while Coleman only fought Shoji.
I used to like Mir until he developed some strange cage allergy that causes instant paralysis once he touches it. Given his record against those guys its like giving props to the heavy bag that all the champs pounded on during an open workout.
He is ok... Fought a lot of big names.... And lost !! He needs to realise he isn't a striker and stick to what he's good at..... But he's to thick and stubborn to take it to the Matt these days.
He's gone after this reem fight, because you know he's gonna stand with him. Mir doesn't have the chin of Bigfoot or Browne. Its a shame really, its like this match is taylor made to get rid of Mir and give reem a win. Which is also pointless as reem has proven he can't hang with the top of the UFC HW division.
RileyPust - Very true. And I would add Sylvia to that list. He beat Big Tim when he was a legitimate force in the division. Submitting Roberto Traven in his third professional fight was quite a feat.
Definitely. Just because an opponent has gone down in the ratings since the fight doesn't mean it wasn't a big win. Then you'd have to take Sapp from Nog, which makes no sense considering Sapp's chemical make-up at the time.
