No one is talking about Gunnar!

He is a legit killer and posed a big threat in the division!

How is he not getting more attention?

Just rewatched lastnights fight, he decimated Cummings.. The second round, he found his reach and was so precise with each attack. And see his shots while he had the back? Perfect placement and ended the fight at his will.
So impressive! I can't wait to watch him again, hope he starts to get more attention. Phone Post 3.0

him and mousasi should have tea and discuss current affairs

Blunderhooks - Because nobody was watching. Phone Post 3.0
... You cereal?

Well with the way the UG was reacting lastnight, it seems everyone of us watched!

Interesting point though, with this being on fight pass, I'd love to see figures on how many watched! At the media scrum Dana said fight pass subs figures blew up over the last few days..

I know the whole of Ireland and UK likely watched it on BT Sports, it was shown live here. Phone Post 3.0

He shoulda killed that guy. Big mismatch.

He was way to passive, hardly threw any punches. 15 total strikes thrown, i believe. By the time he finally turned it on, most lost interest.

if he got that good living/training in iceland, extra credit must be given

Watching Gunnar walking to the Octagon and standing in the Octagon waiting for the fight to start was kind of funny. Looked like he was so bored that he was ready to just fall asleep right there on the spot. I have never seen a fighter looked so bored when a fight was about to start.

Excellent fighter though. Great positioning, great economy of motion, excellent control, excellent use of angles. He's a very dangerous guy.

We just gotta give him some smelling salts or something to wake him the fuck up before he fights.

Gunnar is awesome, I can't imagine my fighters fancying their chances against him.

Awkward, calm, calculated and ultra effective. Phone Post 3.0

^ any not 'my'.

I don't own any fighters :D Phone Post 3.0

He's like a serial killer. Very calm and very calculating. Phone Post 3.0

Let's See how Gunnar's BJJ ranks against Maia

Gunny is where all this Celtic/Viking hype should be focused on. Not only does he have a SUPERB and violent ground game, he also has a great Machida like stance that keeps him on his toes and able to fire quick strikes while being able to bounce right out of range..He can definitely shake up the WW division but just imagine if this kid dropped down to LW.. That would really make a mess of things!

I need to see him against a top 15 guy before I get too excited. There's all this hype about how he's the next level up - well can we see how he goes against the current crop of high level guys? He's 4-0 in the UFC now, time to test him Phone Post 3.0

I think Gunnar is more a shot at winning his title than McGregor any time soon.

Gunnar fought an uninspired fight as if he was bored by the lack of competition in Cummings.

Conor tried to make the world believe that beating Brandao suddenly makes you next in line to take on Aldo.

Truth is Gunnar should have gone all out to put on a clinic and send a message.

He didn't. Gunnar now will not get a big fight next time out whereas Conor likely lands Poirier.

Both are talented. I believe Gunnar is ready now and Conor lacks a ground game and is a few years away if even.

The difference is selling yourself and one day the best fighters are going to learn they need a little sizzle with the steak to get anyone to watch.

No casual fan left Saturday demanding to see Gunnar again.

They all want to see Conor again.

Just don't sleep on Gunnar. He has the tools. Phone Post 3.0

gunnar wasn't exactly dominating the fight with cummings. he got the finish but i think when he fights more aggressive striker/wrestlers then he will have major issues

I Came I Saw I Lurked - gunnar wasn't exactly dominating the fight with cummings. he got the finish but i think when he fights more aggressive striker/wrestlers then he will have major issues
He's too small for much of the top 10 IMO

Woodly, Lombard, Ellenberger, Hendricks, Lawler.

He will have no problems with guys that don't have a ton of KO power or guys that have poor TDD.

have him cut to 155, see how he does there Phone Post 3.0

He looked pretty great. I'd have loved to see him fight laflare. Hopefully that still happens and then give him Maia Phone Post

Round 1 was clearly a feel-out round for him. Many fighters are more passive in rd 1 (A. Silva, Lyoto, etc.) just to feel the pace.

Round 2 he clearly came out more active, moving forward, and looked confident in a strength differential that favored Zach on paper.

I'd like to see him against a fast-starter with good hands and TDD (Gastelum, Ellenberger, Lonbard, etc.). Excited for this guy's future.

Side note - anyone know his walking weight? Can't be more than 185... Phone Post 3.0

I love watching Gunni fight; the man is a surgeon on the ground.

As a fan, I love everything about Gunnar.  I light up every time I see him on the card so hopping he gets a quick matchup lined up soon.

I'm sure he's great. But he's greatly boring. Hell suffer the same long wait to a title shot that Macheetah did. It kills me to see the talented guys just bounce around and not be offensive. He didn't do shit in the first round and probably lost it. Killers kill. Killers don't stand around. Phone Post 3.0
