Congrats on the rules. That's exactly what real jiu-jitsu is all about, no rules, no points, submission only! That's the style that Roroin Gracie has been promoting for years.
Having fighters fight with no clock in mind changes everything, for the better.
Remember the shortest UFC's were the ones before the clock.
You got footlocks, achilles locks, a kneebar here and a figure four there.... you can do without the heelhook if you know what you're doing.
And if you don't, you shouldn't be heelhooking anyway.
There are plenty of leg locks there to submit with. The big thing is the experience levels will be broad, right now on the confirmed fighters it is 6 months to 6 years. Now I know that some matches will be long some short. I have opened this to everyone, at least let us not cripple the newbies that have the balls to jump is such a Great Event. Even though they know they have little chance of winning this event. While others, with the experience, still think about competing is such a demanding event.
And it don't hurt that our insurance restricts us too.
See this will not be a big event, 18 grapplers in each division, that's 36 adult grapplers in all. We are not charging a lot $30, we are not charging admission, it's in-house at our academy. Going to be a real good small event. Imagine the concept.
id think that a lot of the matches will end pretty fast. nobody is going to be stalling to win by points, people dont want to get exhausted by fighitng a long match unless they absolutley must. people are going to go at it and i'd think that most matches will be far shorter than they currently are.
