Im not trying to do the horribly played out MMA hipster act here & I am not blindly hating on WMMA either - but I just read on the mainpage (newspage) that Holly Holm is a 'franchise' and wants 6 figures to fight for the UFC belt against Ronda.....
Who is Holly Holm?
(Serious question - been following the sport daily since UFC 41, I dont have any idea who this is)
shes an up and comer...she better win a championship or a bunch of fights in the ufc if she wants that..ufc would be perfectly happy throwing can after can against ronda since it will make the ufc money

I mean, imagine a former pro 135lb boxer who never fought in the UFC saying he wants Barao for 6 figures, that would be a 'lmao' moment - is this considered the same or is it different because its 'WMMA'?
I had no idea who she was until like a month ago either. Ive watched a few of her fights and I must say shes pretty good although she would definitely face better comp in the UFC so who knows how she'd do. IMO the UFC should have her fight a couple fights first at 15/15 then 30/30 and if shes impressive then maybe she gets 50/50 and a title shot. If she wins she gets 6 figures and if she gets armbarred in 15 seconds the UFC is only out 50k.

If it was a male boxer of her caliber that dedicated himself to mma to the same degree, people would be clamoring for them to be signed.They would have instant drawing ability and clout. Dana White would be clamoring to get him in The UFC. The problem for her though, is that not many people follow women's boxing - including White, who is a self-admitted boxing fan.
I think they could promote the hell out of het as a challenger, though. The story is there, they would just gave to put some money behind her.

Holm is arguably the best P4P female boxer of all time.
That said, she's fought absolutely nobody worth talking about in MMA so far. Comparing her first 6 fights to Ronda's is a joke.

Holm actually started out as a kickboxer, so it is no surprise her kicking technique is almost as good as her hands.
Holly holm thought she had it all collecting 20 to 60 g's a fight during her boxing career. And for a female she did have it good. But she was terribly under promoted on a state. National. World level. Her fights were never on tv. Hardly any ever made it to the Internet. She has left millions on the table. She is like gsp of women's boxing but no one knows who she is. Most ppl in the Mma world know her as the 6 and 0 Mma prospect not the 33 and 3 world boxing champion that's come over to try Mma. If she had of been promoted full during even at least 5 of ger boxing bouts. 100 g's would be a steal for the UFC. They wouldn't even think twice. Holly holm got more press coverage and google searches from a bellator fight that was only streamed than 98 percent of her boxing career.

Problem is there's absolutely no market for women's boxing these days. Its popularity depended highly on Laila Ali who in all honesty was a total hypejob who probably would have gotten wrecked by Ann Wolfe if they had ever fought.
Like I said, Holm is arguably the best P4P female boxer of all time but you're right that nobody knows who she is, and that's why the UFC won't pay her $100k per fight.
