Roger needs more experience for sure but he'd have to beat most of Strikeforce's roster to get 3-4 big wins. If they want to set up that potential match up they should have Roger on the undercard of Fedor's fights so both are generating interest.
I wrote about this in my column today.
Would have to be at the end of Fedor's deal though.
seth vs fedor. seth by moonwalk jab ko
Fedor destroyed Nogueira, the top HW MMA BJJ fighter in the world, I don't see how Roger can do better
Roger is a genuine prospect. Let him develop first before feeding him to Fedor.
If they want the ratings they might as well bring back Royce.
Dont get me wrong, Fedor is the king of the MMA heavyweights, I wont dispute that.
But I do know, his grappling is overrated. He cannot finish a legit BJJ blackbelt via submission.I personally thought Arona beat him, and I also thought Nog won the third fight. The second fight Nog won as well, since Fedor could not continue, just like how Couture lost to Belfort.
Argue what you want, the fact of the matter is that Fedor does not have a good guard, and would be exposed in a pure grappling match.
Brett Rogers has been on CBS at least once and on Showtime a handful of other times. He has much more drawing power than Roger Gracie. That's not a fight anyone is interested in, we need to see if Gracie can strike before feeding him to the GOAT.
Fedor is the king of MMA, but he may only be a purple belt in BJJ.
I want to see:
Fedor vs. Rodgers
Fedor vs. Overeem
Fedor vs. Barnett (yeah I know it won't happen for a year if ever)
Spaghetti Legs - , Fedor is a blackbelt tactician who will win a boring lay'n'pray or slap box match.
is that Clay Guida's HL you're watching?

BWAHAAAHAHAAAHAHAHAAAAHahhhahaaaahhaaahaa
Oh lord, that hurts so much, ribpopping good.
DROC
Fedor would ragdoll Roger. When was the last time anyone came close to submitting Fedor?
NVHighRoller - Yeah.. Gracie needs to be seen on showtime or cbs a few times to build his name a bit, before throwing him to the wolf!
He's a Gracie, everybody knows his name
I would like to see it Roger is by far the best Gracie ever, he probably gets murdered my Fedor on the feet but Strikeforce could market the Gracie name and add another W for their best fighter. I want to see the Brett Rogers fight first and Im not sure Roger would even take that fight. He says openly he doesnt really enjoy MMA and he would have to train his ass off to step in there with Fedor. He definitely has the Ground skills to submit anyone in the world though.
The only legit blackbelts Fedor has fought are Arona and Nogueira and never came close to finishing those fights. I personally thought Fedor lost at least 2 or 3 of those encounters.
His strategy against BJJ fighters is to strike and run. There is NO WAY Fedor can submit a BJJ blackbelt in grappling only, or in MMA.
maybe the dumbest post ever on this forum, all time right there

Thank god you're not a judge. Oh wait, Cecil Peoples, is that you?
HuntingtonPUNK - maybe the dumbest post ever on this forum, all time right there
If that was the dumbest post ever, then how come Fedor has never submitted a BJJ blackbelt?
I remember HuntingtonPUNK from the intheguard.com forum where he denounced BJJ and went to train at one of Titos or Frank Shamrocks schools. This guy is clearly a genius.
Would love to see them grapple, but not fight an MMA bout. Roger needs some relevant fights at the very least in an org like DREAM/Strikerforce before he's to the level where that fight makes sense. Definitely a potential future fight along with other up and comers like Lashley & Rogers, just needs at least a year, but probably 2 or 3, to develop. And Fedor will probably lose/retire before then. So I just don't see them happening (outside Rogers because they simply don't have many fighters to throw at Fedor).
