Guaranteed money is common in boxing and has a history in fighting in general.

I like the win/show format myself, give incentive to train and fight hard, no dives.

When you are Machida and you get $200k, you don't need a win bonus.

I've seen it before where guys who get a heavy base salary, do not receive a win bonus.  It had nothing to do with the outcome of the fight, i believe.
