It’s hard for leadership to shit on police and try to enforce a police state at the same time.

I don’t get why tf people are sitting on their hands.

Be pro-active.

Whoever’s pushing this crap, either educate them, or take them out.

That's embarrassing for those officers. They should have snatched that health inspector up and escorted her outside.

This will start to happen more often as people get tired of being treated like pieces of shit.

I fully agree that it is a completely horrible idea right now to throw caution to the wind and blatantly go out interact with strangers. Specially at bars where most owners have a difficult time sanitizing their own bar wear.

So what are the laws in NY? Did she have a right to be there or not?

Also it's funny how this year has gone from leftist politicians supporting disbanding the police to them then wanting to give them unprecedented powers to enforce lockdowns.

There is some jurisprudence from the US Supreme Court holding that the Fourth Amendment applies with regard to non-criminal issues as well. Good link below:

In general, they are going to need an administrative search warrant. That said, there is essentially no burden of proof required to get one (e.g. probable cause or reasonable suspicion).

If they sell alcohol, piggies may have a lot of leverage via state liquor authority. There’s a good chance that refusing an inspection from law enforcement is grounds for automatic revocation.

As an aside… A few years back some of the guys I worked with went to a bar fight in an adjacent jurisdiction as backup. After it got sorted out, they watched a lard ass local sergeant beg the owner of a problem establishment for his liquor license so he could issue summonses. The shit head had taken it down from behind the bar and hidden it in the office.

Our guys would have asked once. Second time would have gotten him collared for obstructing.

Well said. People are willing to make a lot of sacrifices for public safety if everyone is pulling together. If you’re the only ones being asked to make sacrifices and everyone else is (literally) having wild celebrations in the streets, people will eventually figure out it’s bullshit.
