That's cool. As a blue belt, I don't like to try any of the moves that have you pulling out your own gi, worm guard, etc. I feel like there are so many basics I have yet to get proficient with that trying these things would just be a distraction.

I'm not opposed to sport BJJ, but I feel like I'll wait until later purple or brown belt to start throwing those things in.

Is that a generally agreed upon approach, or am I just making excuses for not training them?

I think if you're gonna compete you should train them, or train to beat it atleast Phone Post 3.0
