Off season spots food in OBX?

I used to go to OBX all the time as a kid, but literally every single place I used to go is shut down now. I like the vibe of Tortgua's Grill which is the only place I know of. Is there any must try spots while I am down there surfing this weekend? I know every post I make is about eating somewhere, but, well, I like food.

Where you at specifically? Phone Post 3.0

No idea. I'm meeting a friend in OCMD Friday, riding down to VA Beach to see Pennywise, then heading down to OBX after that. where his sister's University surf club has a house somewhere that we're crashing at. I assume not too far away from everything.

Well it will depend if youre in nags head, duck area or down towards say Buxton Frisco area, as that's about an hour to an hour and a half drive, the best surfing is Buxton Frisco area.

I could be a lot more help if you found out. Phone Post 3.0

I live on hatteras island so I know my way around

A lot of places have opened early but quality has dropped the past year or so Phone Post 3.0

Mama Kwans and Bonzer Shack both in KDH. The fellow at Bonzer Shack was the original owner of Tortuga's.

I'm just guessing here, but I am assuming we'll be around Nags Head and the surf club will be surfing near the pier. Me and my two buddies are gonna break off and surf on our own, because we have our own car (the others are taking passenger vans down) and I am not dealing with 30 college kids in the water around me.

All the things I loved are gone... The Windmill, Coastal Cactus, Jockey's Ribs, Fast Eddy's... probably weren't even good, but those were my childhood memories.

Mama Kwans and Bonzer are very similar to Tortuga's with much better food. Bonzer Shack, on the beach road @ mile post 9, has an outdoor area that is very cool.

Kwans is on the bypass between McDs and Pizza Hut.

Jockey's Ribs is now the Nags Head Cafe. Same owners, same food, just a different name.

If you liked Windmill Point, you should try Miller Water Front right down the street from where the Point used to be. They have a brand new upstairs bar overlooking the sound.

The Brewing Station on the bypass MP was featured on Triple D. They are a brewery with 6 different beer. Good nightlife if you're in to that scene.

Check out the new Rum Distillery that opened in Manteo.

Awesome, VU for the suggestions, thanks!! Super stoked to be in OBX and get out in the water.

Is your school out already?

Nah, my last day isn't until June 21!! I'm just taking a day off so I can see one of my favorite bands and go surf and travel a little.

Carolina BBQ shack. Right before you hit the 4x4 beach but sounds like you are gonna be way south Phone Post 3.0

Sorry I wrote a whole thing out earlier guess it didn't post

Pretty much what everyone else said, and I'll add:

Kill devil grill and blue moon, good lil spots

If you come down to hatteras I can help you out down this way with good places Phone Post 3.0

Borgata Grille -

Thats-a-burger in Nags Head

Never heard of a That's a burger in Nags Head. The best burger in that whole area, IMO is Art's Place on the beach road in Kitty Hawk
