Format-
Best of three series for each round. Instead of having multiple tourneys with multiple weight classes, it's a different weight class for each fight in each round.
For instance, 2 fighters fight in a round. We could have it so the first fight is LHW, next LW, if we're 1-1 we'd do a WW (or whatever the established weight class for the 3rd fight in that round is). It's set it up so that the weight classes are different in each round so it's already decided ahead of time and we don't have bickering about which classes to do, maybe taking votes in advance. So say round 1 of the tourney is LHW, LW, WW. Round 2 is FW, HW, MW. Round 3 WW, MW, HW. Etc, etc. That way everyone has to use different fighters and you don't have one guy picking Jon or Andy and running through the whole tourney. Also, no mirror matches (ex. Jon Jones vs. Jon Jones).
Start date-
The tournement will begin a week after release to start the first round, by then we'll all have played the demo for a couple weeks and had a week with the game to figure it out and fight people online to get the hang of it.
Timeline-
The timeline for completing a fight with your opponent will be 2 days (two days to get with your opponent and make time), and try and finish the tourney over ten days MAX depending on how many people we end up with. Every time we do these things we have no shows and dudes that feel the need to wait four days to get their fights in. If your opponent is ready and trying to fight you but you're not around after two days, that's a DQ bye for the participating dude. If anyone wants to say shit like "oh sorry I have a life", too fucking bad. Make time or don't do the tournament. It's unreasonable to hold up a bunch of people trying to do a tourney for one guy that's not as into it.
