The officials in attendance were Rusty Davidson of USA, Shelby Tremblay of Canada, Courtnay Kingsbury of Canada, Lenis Thokle of Canada, Jason Flinders of Canada, Patrick Goulah of Canada, Willem Putter of South Africa and Sacha Grief of France. The officials did a stellar job and it was clear that Canada is a power house in Grappling Officiating Development - Way to go!!!
As we saw in the results and in the attending athletes the growth of the sport is moving in a positive direction. Many solid clubs are supporting FILA Grappling at all levels. This direction is being embraced and many clubs and athletes are seeing this as a great opportunity to test their abilities against all styles, but as well create the style of GRAPPLING...
We are looking forward to next years World Championships and rumour has it, this will be the official qualifier for the World Combat Games to take place in Beijing China in 2010 at the Wrestling Venue used in the 2008 Olympics.
Can't Wait!
Now for the Results:
