OG BBQ contest June 19th and 20th Entries (pics)

It’s time!

Here a a seperate thread for all of your BBQ entries for our consideration over the next 2 days. No formal rules and just post pics yourself because last time most of you couldn’t follow the “rules” anyways. If you guys want to vote at the end we will do that.

What is at stake is your pit master ego. You must flex on other OGers and talk as much shit as possible on your opponents. Are you going to lose these other scumbags and their gross food? Show them you are a better person than everyone else by besting them with your BBQ. Those that are capable of making quality BBQ but don’t make some over the next two days aren’t people.

Would like to thank @Fathead_D for the sweet knife in my photos. Was hacking on chicken bones and everything else with it during this weekend. Excellent feel and kept it’s blade even when doing pig knuckles.

Friday night is Pig Pen Friday and I cook for a group and my 6 year old son. This Friday was Cherry smoked chicken thighs with a sweet rub. Wrapped in bacon and during the last hour given a lick of home made whisky and pineapple sauce.


Tonight was onion rings with piped homemade blueberry and cranberry cream cheese filling, wrapped in bacon. Sweet Italian sausages, bok choy and tomatoes. Smoked cheddar cheese, salmon with a blueberry and rhubarb chutney. All smoked with mesquite.


Thanks again @Fathead_D ,the knife was a pleasure to use. I’ll open a knife porn thread on it I am so impressed.

Edit 1: Seasoning the prime tri-tip for tonight. Pro tip. If you know what to look for you can get a single grain piece. It will be smaller but the end product is better.

Ribs in the smoker. I will be making ribs, chicken, and sausage in the smoker tonight. I am going to smoke another rack of ribs and smoke a pork tenderloin that I will turn into pulled pork tomorrow.

Just got started. I will edit this post as the day rolls on! Doing babybacks for me and wings for the wifey. Jalapeno poppers are always a must. I just got a kettle grill a couple months ago so were doing the snake method today.


Poppers and wings jus went on! You guys gonna watch the king of BBQ feast!

Ribs out of the smoker. In oven now wrapped to make room for chicken. Look awesome. Smells even better. I’ll make a BBQ sauce for them to finish them.

Chicken has to go in oven because it is dinner time and not done. lol. Just have some sausage in there that will also have to oven finish. Ribs look on point before sauce.

I work 3rd shift so I got very little sleep trying to get all this done.

Mine is good, but doesn’t look as good as those. I had to put stuff in the oven due to timing and didn’t get to smoke it in there as long as I would like. It isn’t easy to get home at 7 and have smoked food ready for dinner. lol. I’ll get pics up after dinner. I’ll probably go back to bed. I will have a round 2 of ribs and pork for pulled pork in the smoker tomorrow without the logistics of time being a factor so I expect them to be even better.
