So it looks like Massachusetts is going to pass the use of crossbows for every hunter.
Anyone out there hunt with one, is it worth spending the money?

Is a compound bow too difficult for you?
Does Mass consider it a bow to run along archery season or gun season?

Crossbows…For those that want to hunt the early archery season, but either cant master a bow or are unwilling to put in the effort.
Illegal here, unless you are disabled or use it during the rifle season. As it should be.
Out here they're pretty much limited to disabled, access challenged.
If I bought one it would be for hippies, zombies, and rogue Canadians.
According to the news, it's open to hunters in 32 other states.
I am not opposed to a compound bound, but between running the UG empire and raising a toddler, I don't have time to put in to learn it confidently enough I'd hunt with it. I shotgun hunt, but it's only a two week season after the rut.
I bought an used crossbow at a pawn shop for $150. Have taken several deer with it. However, if I had the cash, I would buy a Ravin in a heart beat.
10 year old girls hunt with crossbows here, so if you are a 10 year old girl go for it.
I wouldn’t think most states classify a crossbow as archery. I know here in AZ they are not allowed to be used during archery season. You can use them in place of a rifle if you want an extra challenge. I’ve taken javelina with crossbow, revolver, bow, muzzle loader, rifle, almost every weapon legal.
What do you plan on hunting?

Same here about classifying it as archery…it’s not.
I think it’s a western kind of thing though. If I am correct, most mid and eastern states allow them during the archery hunt.
The Pope said I can't use them, so I don't.
