OGPL Week 4: Predictions!

OGPL 2004 Regular Season: OFFICIAL RULES

1. The OGPL is open to all members of the OG. However, to be counted in the official overall standings from week-to-week, players must submit a pick for each game, every week of the regular season.

2. All prediction picks must be placed 1 hour prior to the first game of each week to be counted. The only exception to this rule will be in the event of Thursday night games, such as the NFL Season Opener and Thanksgiving, where a separate post for these games will be accepted.

2a. As a precaution against the loss data that we experienced during mid-season last year, all OGPL players are advised to email their final selections to: khun.kao@verizon.net Again, all final prediction picks must be sent 1 hour before the first weekend kickoff. The 'Thursday exception' applies to emails as well. (please remember to include your screen-name in your email!)

3. All prediction picks must be submitted on the official "OGPL Week [#]: Predictions!!!" thread.

4. If you submit prediction picks, but wish to change your mind before kickoff on Sunday, please edit your original post. This will minimize any confusion! Again, the only exception to this rule will be in the event of a Thursday night game, where separate posts are not only excepted, but encouraged. (If you edit your predictions, please resend your entire predicion list via email to be properly tallied!)

5. Though not required, posting short explanations for your prediction picks is encouraged. Humor is a plus!

6. Also encouraged is making predictions on upsets, routs, turnovers, or any other "games within the game" that you can think of.

7. The game is played for bragging rights only! No prizes will "officially" be awarded. (though we're hoping to eventually change this rule)

8. Each weeks results will be listed in two separate posts (on the same thread). Weekly Results & Overall Standings. All O.G. members are eligible to compete for the weekly results, but only O.G. members who participate each and every game, each and every week will be tallied in the overall standings.

9. All players are responsible for keeping track of their predictions and standings as a safety measure. We're only human and mistakes are sometimes made. Though there are no prizes at stake, we do not wish to 'gyp' anyone of their legitimate standings in this contest.

10. HAVE FUN!

WEEK 4

Sunday, Oct. 3

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh, 1:00 pm

Indianapolis at Jacksonville, 1:00 pm

New England at Buffalo, 1:00 pm

N.Y. Giants at Green Bay, 1:00 pm

Oakland at Houston, 1:00 pm

Philadelphia at Chicago, 1:00 pm

Washington at Cleveland, 1:00 pm

Atlanta at Carolina, 4:05 pm

New Orleans at Arizona, 4:05 pm

Denver at Tampa Bay, 4:15 pm

N.Y. Jets at Miami, 4:15 pm

Tennessee at San Diego, 4:15 pm

St. Louis at San Francisco, 8:30 pm

Monday, Oct. 4

Kansas City at Baltimore, 9:00 pm

(Open date: Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, Seattle)

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh: Hmmm. I'm really not sure here. Both teams have issues. Go with home field advantage... PICK: Pittsburgh

Indianapolis at Jacksonville: Jacksonville could be the break-out team of 2004, and they've got homefield advantage! However, this is Indianapolis we're talking about. Manning just seems to have the magic. PICK: Indianapolis

New England at Buffalo: Buffalo still has a top-notch defense, so I'm not expecting a New England blowout, but the Pat's are as close to the complete package as there is. PICK: New England

N.Y. Giants at Green Bay: Watch the walking tall Giants to be brought back down to earth at the hands of Favre and the Pack. I don't think this is Green Bay's year (too many question marks on their team) but they should handle the Giants. PICK: Green Bay

Oakland at Houston: Ooooooh! This should actually be a pretty decent game, though I don't give a spit about either team. PICK: Houston

Philadelphia at Chicago: Grossman in or out, it doesn't matter... PICK: Philadelphia

Washington at Cleveland: As disa-fucking-pointing as the 'Skins two losses have been, they really started to look like they were getting into a rhythm on offense. Our defense is still one of the top in the league, effectively handling all three of their opponents so far this season. PICK: Washington Redskins!!!!

(HAIL TO THE REDSKINS, HAIL VICTORY, BRAVES ON THE WARPATH, FIGHT FOR OLD D.C.!)

Atlanta at Carolina: I really don't know who to pick here. Atlanta has been on a roll this season, but they haven't really beaten anyone of note yet. They are playing at Carolina, but the Panthers "D" doesn't look as sharp this year... PICK: Atlanta

New Orleans at Arizona: There are two underdog teams that I like to root for when they aren't playing the Redskins. I actually would like to see Arizona win, but I don't think its happening this week. PICK: New Orleans

Denver at Tampa Bay: Tampa just doesn't have a good offense this year. Denver seems to have the pieces it needs to go far. PICK: Denver

N.Y. Jets at Miami: This is a good rivalry game, and the Dolphins "D" is still really tough. But they don't have the offense to back it up, much like Tampa Bay. PICK: N.Y. Jets

Tennessee at San Diego: No contest! PICK: Tennessee

St. Louis at San Francisco: Wow! Did St. Louis get shocked or what? And San Fran just got PASTED by Seattle. The Niners will be fighting with heart to not allow that to happen again, but unfortunately, it will. PICK: St. Louis

Kansas City at Baltimore: Kansas City has an elite offense and NO defense. Baltimore has an elite defense and a little bit less than mediocre offense. Defense wins games more than offense. PICK: Bawlmer, hon!

(Open date: Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, Seattle)

Monday, Oct. 4

Kansas City at Baltimore--Baltimore. Jamal Lewis will go berserk against that defense.
