Oh...My Aching Back...

Ok so somehow I facked my back up in training last Friday. Everything was fine Friday night, but I woke up with muscle pain in my left lower back the next morning. I've been training lightly with it ever since, hitting the bags, powerwalking (can't jog for sh!t). The thing is it's fine after I get warmed up, get the sweat going, but because I can't do any hard cardio with it, I have to warm up powerwalking like an hour on the treadmill, which sucks because I catch myself looking in the mirror looking extremely gay. Then I hit the bags for about 45 minutes. Thing is the back acts up after I leave the gym. Like when ever I get up from sitting or sleeping it hurts like a b!tch, and is extremely stiff. My question is should I keep training half ass like this or take some days off. I'm trying to lose 25 lbs by summer so I can get back into fighting, and my metabolism is such that I blow up every time I'm off cardio for a couple of days. I'm gonna go half-ass again today, but all you experts let me know...and thanks in advance for your help, and fack you in advance to the wiseasses...

yoga imo

Actually I've been doing yoga (power vinyassa flow) for over 3 years now. I really do think it helps alot. I got off it about 3 months ago, I KNOW thats why I'm getting injured much easier now. Thing is it hurts when I bend at the waist, so I cant even touch my toes now. I'm confused because after warming up in the gym, my back feels MUCH better. But its been hell outside the gym, sitting down, getting up, climbing stairs, etc. But is working out now in the gym prolonging the injury, even though I feel much better working out?

ttt

It's not normal to feel like that?

Damn, gotta see a dr. now.

Thanks.

^^I ain't just b!tching about some back ache...I literally have to hold my breath getting up and down...sucks...but I think it's only muscle pain...still sucks...whimper

I feel how you know.

Hopefully you just strained a muscle. You should probably take at least a day or two off and see if there is any change. If not you may want to bite the bullet and see a doctor, back injuries are no joke.

I feel your pain ... I currently have a deep stabbing pain in my upper back, slightly to the right of my spine. Feels like somebody stabbed a knife in there. It's been this way for almost a week, not getting better. I'm sure it must just be muscle pain since it's off to the side and in the upper back, but Allah almighty, does it hurt like fvck.

Goji

Berries.

I ruptured a disc in my back between L4 and L5 three weeks ago. Went to the doctor 48 hours after it happened because it hurt like a mother... I was in PT less than 72 hours after I hurt it.

The therapist told me I will make a full recovery because I addressed it right away. A lot of times, people hurt their backs without ever being diagnosed of exactly what they did wrong and over time it compounds and gets worse. Thats what she told me anyway.

Go get it looked at.
