Hands down, one of the best movies/mini series I have ever watched. Frances McDormand was amazing. I kept wanting to feel sorry for her and then hated her. What a performance...

Great performance. Olive wasn't really a character you could really love or hate completely, because she was played and written with so much complexity.
I thought it was right up there with GOT and True Detective as far as great HBO productions go.
For sure...of course the OG would never watch a series that has a female protagonist unless her boobs were popping out of her leather outfit

Thanks OP. I watched the first two parts last night and fucking loved it. Sleep safely as I will seek no vengeance.
For those who haven't seen it, it's hard to describe. It's not a plot driven show. It's a character driven show about a woman in a small town in Maine. It starts 25 years in the past, and then jumps to the present, following where people's lives take them. It's really good writing and amazing acting. It stars Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins. I think Richard Jenkins is one of the best actors in the world. For those who can't place the name, it's this guy;

I cried several times. It is Fantastic. Her performance was amazing...I think it struck a chord with me because she reminds me of my mom...and the dad as my dad:(
Guys, you aren't going to see explosions and mafia driven story lines. It's a story about real life. I can't count how many times I felt sorry for Olive then hated her like 2 seconds later
The soundtrack and scoring is brilliant. I can't speak well enough about it.

Outstanding but very dark.
I love it so much I've been saving the last 2 hours, I really need to watch it soon. The acting is incredible. Fantastic miniseries
