Olympic 2024 Judo Access?

Anyone watching judo at Paris via IJF.org - International Judo Federation? This worked for me for the last Olympics and the worlds up to this year but I can only see the match clock live, there is no match being shown.

Anyone else getting this?

The judo has been absolutely phenomenal at these games. By far and away the most compelling sport at the games thus far in my humble opinion.

Just figured on day 3 that cbc in Canada had all days on stream. No more watching 4 hours for 5min of what u wanna see!!

Lotta controversies though and debatable calls.

The French audience is by far the best judo crowd in the world. Also doesn’t hurt I have some decent music in between - daft punk, justice, white stripes, strokes…

The French audience humming Seven Nation Army after a French judoka won was awesome.

Can’t believe the teams golden score match went to Riner lol. As much flack as he gets for being way more physically gifted over his div, he has my respect for pulling out the late wins by experience and mental composure.

Interesting lineup Japan went with in the Teams finals against France:

Tsunoda from 48kg vs Cysique at 57kg over Funakubo (57kg bronze) and Uta (52kg). Yet she won by ippon 2 weights up.

Abe Hifumi just gassed and got outmuscled by Gaba in the end. He was clearly more skilled. Why was he picked over Hashimoto? Cuz he lost to a no namer earlier?

Agbegnenou pulls it out like Riner in the clutch over Takaichi who was getting the better of her thru reg time and while I’m all for letting them fight it out, don’t think Clarisse attacked at all during reg time. They both fought at 70kg from 63kg over Gahie and Nizoe, why?

Sone was also injured so Takayama took her place and beat Dicko.

Apparently Judo is huge in France. Teddy Riner is amazing. I know he’s no kid but it sure would be fun to see him in Rizin, ONE Fc, or a similar promotion in a special attraction type mma match. Maybe put him against a an Oympic Greco guy or something.

Yea judo has been one of the top sports there for decades. Riner’s style would not lend well to MMA.

Fine do a ONE Fc special rules match that combines wrestling, judo and bjj

lol dude it’s not gonna happen. Plus his style is gi dependant. And he doesn’t seem to do newaza much.

The judo I watched was mostly Sutemi waza attempts to create newaza. I hated it and I am glad Nick Yonezuka called it out.

bring back Yuko , bring back leg attacks, and let more time for newaza. right now this judo is watered down bullshit.

Kinda of a contradiction to call out sutemis to newaza but want more time for newaza. As long as it’s all for legit attacks, standing or ground, it’s all good in my eyes.

Take Tsunoda for example, I can see how it could be looked at as spamming tomoe mage’s but….she always (always) scores with it eventually and…she is always attacking from guard off the failed attempts.

I agree with much of what Yonezuka had to say but don’t remember the sutemi/newaza call out. It was a bit refreshing to watch wrestling where the refs communicate other you during the match and give warnings so the shidos amd hansokumakes aren’t so abrupt and not transparent.

The judges table reviews and decisions as well are audibly announced and with explanation (justification).

Who was doing this aside from the aforementioned Tsunoda?

I called them out because it was the only entry for newaza. I want more newaza when a judoka goes belly down off a crap seoi nage. I don’t want someone semi fake pulling guard to initiate grappling only to be stood up if they can’t sweep or hold onto half guard.

I want less rules and for the fights to happen organically.

Any predictions on the new rules? I saw a youtube video where someone proposed giving up points for getting taken down by landing on your stomach similar to how Sambo does it if you land flat.
