Only 51k have registered for obamacare?

Just 51,000 people completed Obamacare applications during the website's first week, out of tens of millions of Americans in 36 states

Obamacare's main signup engine attracted just 6,200 new customers on its launch day and 51,000 after the first week
At the same rate, the 6-month open enrollment period would sign up just 2 million Americans, including 14 states and D.C., which have their own insurance exchanges
The Congressional Budget Office says Obamacare needs at least 7 million customers to stay afloat financially
Numerous Obama administration officials have denied seeing any enrollment figures at all
MailOnline's sources are two Health and Human Services workers who have access to the data as it's crunched
Texas congressman says anemic national enrollment numbers are 'roughly the population of a small town in my district'

Just 51,000 people completed Obamacare applications during the first week the Healthcare.gov website was online, according to two sources inside the Department of Health and Human Services who gave MailOnline an exclusive look at the earliest enrollment numbers.

The career civil servants, who process data inside the agency, confirmed independently that just 6,200 Americans applied for health insurance through the problem-plagued website on October 1, the day it first opened to the public.

Neither HHS nor the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services would comment on the record about the numbers. Enroll America, on Obama administration-related organization that aims to help Americans sign up, only replied to a request for information a day after this article was first published.

'I don’t have any hard numbers beyond what HHS and the state-based exchanges have released,' said spokesman Justin Nisly, who insisted that Americans have been 'enthusiastic' and 'grateful' for Obamacare.

The White House did not respond to emails seeking comment.

But several administration officials have claimed this month that they didn't have access to the kinds of raw figures MailOnline obtained from the people who work for them. And the anemic totals suggest a far lower level of interest in coverage through the Affordable Care Act than the Obama administration has hoped to see.

Texas Rep. Kevin Brady, a Republican who chairs the House Ways & Means Health Subcommittee, said that 'if the numbers are accurate,' they show 'that relatively few people have navigated the challenges of the first step of the process – roughly the population of a small town in my district.'

'The White House and HHS have continually claimed they did not have these figures,' Brady told MailOnline. 'If they do, they have misled the Congress and the American people.'

The low numbers also reflect a level of technological frustration on the part of Americans whose attempts to investigate their new health insurance options have been met with crashes, error messages and interminable delays.

Well it's good to see our literacy rate is so low.  Those 51k can't read what a piece of shit it is.

How is this true? I just read that 40,000 signed up in ny alone. I'll have to find the article. Phone Post 3.0

It's very hard to get anything accomplished on the web site currently. Maybe due to do much traffic? I'm no expert and not sure. Phone Post 3.0

Never posts anything in-correctly.

I'm going with BS on the OP's article Phone Post 3.0

Far more than I would have bet. This might be all that sign up

51,000 could be the number signed on up on the FEDERAL exchange. I believe around 20-25 states are using state or joint-run exchanges.

Plus, it's a 6-month enrollment period. People tend to leave things till the last minute. How many people file their taxes in January? I'd guess not too many.

Lol @ too much traffic.

Right. That's believable.

More people look at porn every day, or google, or yahoo.

Right. It's too much traffic. People are just frothing at their keyboards dying to sign up.

Too much traffic. Jesus fucking Christ. Phone Post 3.0

at least in arizona it has been to much traffic among other problems. I can get halfway through the application and then i get kicked out from server problems.

My roommate got a quote though for $28 a month for her and her 2 kids after all subisidies.

P.S. You come across as angry. Maybe you should relax. Try some tea or something.

What does it mean to "Sign up for Obamacare"? Purchasing insurance through the federal exchange? Obamacare isn't a insurance provider, it's just a mandate that you need to purchase insurance.

So if people purchased insurance privately, received it through their employer, or bought it through a State-run exchange, then those numbers wouldn't be reflected in the total provided by OP's article, correct?

the other ones found out that they have a job and its not free so they said fuck it.

I have been kind of angry lately. Not exactly sure what my deal is as i'm usually pretty mellow.

People have 6 months to sign up for this initial enrollment period. It might be a little soon to write the obituary.

Site no work, is normal

Po people dont got computers homie Phone Post

Healthcare.gov is not a functioning database application that allows people to shop for competing health plans. It is actually a government-run Trojan Horse that suckers people into creating accounts where they hand over:

• Name and address
• Email address and password
• Social security number
• Private bank account details
• Employer details and other information

During the enrollment process, your computer also hands over your IP address which is then tied to your social security number.

This IP address is then handed over to the NSA thanks to its new mega-black-hole data center in Utah, where your IP is cross-referenced with all website visits, including:

• "Anti-government" websites
• Porn sites
• Gambling sites
• File sharing sites
• "Terrorism" support sites
• Encryption service sites like Hushmail
• Chat rooms, message boards and more

Armed with this information, the NSA can then link your seemingly-anonymous online chats, comments and posts with your social security number. Linguistic algorithms can "score" your online posts to create red flags that call for additional investigations of anyone using words like "liberty" or "patriot."

This information can then be turned over to law enforcement, as is found in the fine print of the Maryland Obamacare exchange, which states:

...we may share information provided in your application with the appropriate authorities for law enforcement and audit activities...

Thus, by enrolling in Obamacare, you are voluntarily surveilling yourself and handing over the data to the government while also AGREEING to terms of self-incrimination.

Ponder the implications of this for a moment...
