Hi Guys,
Thanks to everyone that came out to the Grapplings Rules clinic your input was greatly appreciated.
There was a lot of progress made at the meeting, in that we were able to identify and clarify many of the areas that were giving our refs trouble.
Before the WEST END RUMBLE Mark Bocek and myself will be conducting a rules clinic for all the competitors and the refs to formally get on the same page. We will answer all questions until everyone has a good grasp of the rules.
The decisions that were made at the rules meeting will be held up until, if and when, we ever run another rules meeting I guess.
The one major area changed for Ontario is the aspect of takedowns. If you throw your opponent and his back touches the floor, then you DO NOT have to control him to get your points. If you take a person down and their butt is on the ground, then you have to keep their butt down for at least 3 seconds. Other than that we will be formally introducing the aspect of advantages.
There is simply too much to try to explain over a post. So I will look forward to seeing all of you this Sunday where Mark and I will run all the rules through.
Thanks,
Terry
