I'm intrigued by the "barefoot" shoe concept for running and general training. Nike Free look to be my best option for trying out not-quite-barefoot training.
Any opinions on the running shoes, or the trainers? Thanks very much.
Cheers.
I like mine.
All that I have worn for the last 3 years.
I'm pretty new to the whole "barefoot" thing. I'm in reasonable shape and spend some time barefoot during bjj/grappling. Any thoughts on should I start with the 7.0's, or could/should I go right into the 5.0's to get some real benefits?
Thank you.
I found a pair a few years ago and haven't looked back. I just got a second pair a few months ago.
I find the design ugly.
I do like my vibram fivefingers though:)
I have 2 pair. The first pair I bought was the 7.0 cross trainer. The construction of that show is much sturdier than the 5.0 runner that I bought. The shoes are very nice if you like feeling the ground beneath your feet. They are very poor in slick and muddy conditions. I went trail running in MN and almost got into a real bind when I got caught in a canyon during a sudden down pour. The slopes turned to mud and I could get no traction. I ended up grabbing some sticks and making trekking poles. I did order the new trainers they have, but had to return them because they made an error on the design (they are all custom designed in China).
Are they that good for lifting?
I have seen someone deadlift in them and it looked like they were being pushed around a lot.
I wear them since 2005, o other athletic shoes since then.
Always 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0 I don´t like the 7.0 and since I mostly I get some sponsorship from them I don´t have to pay for them.:-)
You could try wearing some wrestling shoes. I've been wearing mine to run on a treadmill for a while and have noticed much less pain in my knees, feet and ankles.
Stupid question alert
Do you wear socks with these type of shoes(Nike, Vibram or others)???
Chango
Nike Free, yes, Vibrams, no... they get stinky
Thanks.
