Origins of the name Kashk

I know this is a silly thread. But recently a few people who frequent this board asked me where the name came from.

The name Kashk was taken from Kashk Taylor who I studied with in school. We were in the process of naming our intramural Basketball team when I asked him what he would nem the team and he said "Kash Money, with a K like my name". So we named the team Kash Money. Well my friend never attended one practice, or game. And eventually months later dropped the class we were both taking. Months after that he completely disappeared, and has never been heard from to this day.

So I figured since he wasn't using his name, and it was kind of unique ( please note my attempt to be cool ), that I would use it for this board.

Cheers,
Josh

...worst story evah...

Interesting.

I picked my screen name after my dog at the time WILEY. He was a Dalmation I had that was as strong as an ox, had tremendous amounts of endurance, quick, agile and very fun to be around.

I lived with my brother who also had a Dalmation. And anyone who knows about dogs knows Dalmations are high energy dogs requiring lots and lots of exercise. I took up running and even placed in many local 5k, 8k, an 10k road races for my age group. I trained my dog and my brothers dog to run with me while on leash. We ran on average 4 days a week and ran anywhere from 1hr-1hr30min each time. I was an addicted runner (all this before jiu jitsu).

Then my dog was diagnosed with bone cancer in his leg and his running days stopped. I quit running that day as well and have never really been able to get back into it. He eventually lost his leg, yet he remained quick, strong, agile, and he never lost his good natured temperment.

I have been told I am rather quick, agile, and have a good sense of humor.

Hence I called myself WILEY in his honor. (he's now deseased for close to 4yrs)

Dougie, how did you get your screen name?

It's a long story...one that involves a ring, a volcano, and a case of beer. The funny thing is, that for the first 6 months at Fateh's, everyone called me "Jeff."

I thought Kashk was the name of the wookie homeworld...?

Esfiha named me Canario cause I had bleached hair and I talked alot.

U serious Canario?

If so that is funny.

He started calling me Tweety, but then remembered what kind of bird Tweety was and I'm glad he did.

Canario is unique and cool, Tweety not so much.

Also, don't listen to Jeff, his story about the volcano is highly suspect.

lol no one here believes you ever stepped foot on a basketball court big man mabye when you beat me in that 10k run he had scheduled you will earn some believers :)

Claude, unlike some I can offer proof of my previous B-Ball exploits.

As for the 10k run, you were the one who ducked out. I personally think it would be wise for you to continue to avoid facing me, as I am not sure your psyche could handle the shock of losing to me in a foot race.

What's the origins of the name Big Perm??? lol

ScottLarock, I belive there was a member of the old Karma club who was suffering from the early stages of male pattern baldness, and he was jealous/obsessed with my bountiful curly locks at the time. This led him to giveme the nickname. As for his condition, I believe it is almost over now, and petty soon will just be baldness, without any pattern.

lol

Before I forget, I just want to say it is an honor to have Dougie on this thread, since he isn't on any of the other ones.

KashK, I love you.

LOL

what about "Meza Luna" (half moon?) Josh had a few good one's.

I am the Dominator(Domenic). I got it from Karem. I don't really Dominate. Karem's just great at making people feel good about themselves by giving them great nick names and then annouce their arrival like your a WWE superstar.

Dougie thanks for the love.

The Dominator deserves his nick name in his private life as well as in jiu-jitsu.
