Oswaldo alves academy, rio?

Hi guys. I was just wondering if anyone who has trained at his academy in rio shed any light on what the training is like and what the emphesis of the training is -sport bjj, no gi-mma? I'm looking to visit rio and would appreciate any info about the training, thanks in advance.

in good training

So you want to visit Oswaldo "Judo" Alves?

Scotty from Onthemat trains there sometimes. It's
now a Gracie Barra affiliate. Home to two of the
best lightweight BJJ players in the world: Fredson
Paxaio and Bibiano Fernandez. These guys have
some of the most devestating wrist locks around,
and are really the only squad that practices this
degree to good results (Fredson BROKE Yuki
Nakai's wrist to one of the meanest wrist locks
ever, and Bibiano did the same to Ricardo Viera,
[Leonzinho's brother]). You'll learn a lot there.

Oswaldo Alves is a great coach. You can not go wrong with him!

I wonder how Bibiano would do against Leozinho...

Hi, he seems to be a very respected man amongst the bjj community, is his training verY judo orienated? any info on his training would be great. Thanks

ttt

Well he is a bit more Judo oriented and big on conditioning.

He did train Judo in Japan with the likes of Isao Okano etc.

Thanks for the info guys, just wondering if an
any no-gi/mma training goes on there
