Overeem wants to fight in K1 each year and enjoys that sport and the money and fame that he gets in Japan. He is a superstar over there.
What will Overeem do when his Strikeforce contract runs out? Bellator?
The problem for that scenario is that K1 might not be around any longer, which would be a real shame.
On top of that, I think Alistair scratched that itch when he won the K1 GP this year. If he had lost, he might feel like he had some unfinished business in kickboxing, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's satisfied.
Alistair has shown interest in the past in coming to the UFC. I think he's all about legacy now, so there's a real chance that will see him in the Octagon once his Strikeforce contract expires, and perhaps even sooner if Dana can't resist.
Plus the UFC/Strikeforce most likely will be in China and not sure about Japan now, but many other places around the world that The Reem may be interested in. And yea he wont really have many options.
srry.. japan is facing a nuke meltdown... ain't nothing going on over there for the next decade at least.. overeem will def help expand the strikeforce/ufc brand in europe though
Last I heard overeem Hasn't been paid yet for the GP. So we may see him more commuted to MMA soon enough

K-1 not doing so well... so we'll see... if he does fight for the UFC someday there will be some interesting fights for him for sure.

I don't usually like to say things like so and so would wreck that guy, etc, because when you're dealing with world class fighters, anything could happen.
