Looking for a clip instructing the overhead sweep when opponent stands in your closed guard. Grab wrists, butt under his balance and sweep over your head. I was trying to get it a few times today and something just didn't feel right so I wanted to brush up a bit.
.
Here's another tutorial by Cassio Cardoso. Cassio used this sweep against Marcelo in their historic match in the 80s.

So theres the Roletta sweep, the elevator sweep, the balloon sweep.
Any other variations on these this type of sweep.
I have to admit I have a spot in my heart for these types of sweeps.

Also worth noting, Cobrinha shows a DLR version in his DVD sets. He shows a number of tomo nagae style sweeps in that set actually.
Good stuff!
BTW... the version of this sweep (or maybe it's different sweep) where you lock your guard at or just above your opponent's knees then take him over in the same "Hon Tomoe Nage" type manner ---What do you guys call THAT sweep? Is there a name for it, or would you call it simply an "Overhead Sweep" as well...??
Thanks!

Helicopter sweep is the one you're talking about.
Hit one of these rolling last night because of this thread. I don't try for it often enough.
I like it from spider and love the moment the guy's feet are off the ground - the "oh shit" look on their face.

Cole Miller like a boss!
I think that has to be the best pure bjj sweep I've ever seen in a high level MMA fight.
That was something you pull off on a good day in training, but in an actual fight?! Just awesome.
That gif makes me happy
