Overlooked Chuck Liddell statistic

I was watching UFC 19 Young Gunz today, and I could've sworn Jeremy Horn had a kneebar on Chuck Liddell and that Chuck tapped. I was wrong, b/c the fight ended with Horn in an arm choke while on the bottom of Chuck. About 5 seconds left in the rd, Horn SQUEEZED his grip, and when the bell ended, Horn says to John McCarthy-"He's out". Sure enough, Chuck Liddell was asleep.

HE NEVER TAPPED.

That got me thinking, Chuck never has tapped has he...

I looked it up, and that is fucking Amazing for someone known as a "knockout artist" to have never tapped.

It was Chucks' UFC Debut, his 3rd ever fight.

After that, Chuck fought-

Jeff Monson
Murilo Bustamante
Renato Sobral 2X
Alistair Overeem(Believe it or not Overeem has more submissions than (T)ko's on his record)
Jeremy Horn again(avenging his earlier loss)

Pele
Vitor
Tito
Randy
Quinton
Vernon Tiger White
Keith Jardine
Wanderlei Silva
Rashad Evans
Shogun Rua
Rich Franklin

NONE of those guys made Chuck Liddell tap a body part as if to say," I've had enough I can't take it anymore."

That fucker went out on his fucking Shield=RESPECT!!

A percentage of "ultimate fighters" these days would have long opted out of a fight similar to Chuck vs Pele. Chuck was a complete badass, totally deserving of his stardom and fortune.

Yep gotta love Chuck my favorite MMA fighter Phone Post

His TDD was second to none, hard to sub a guy when you cant get him down.

This.

How many sub attempts do you really remember Chuck being in?

It wasnt many

Watched the first Rampage fight again. Dana is commentating. See's Chuck is hurt and gets the corner to throw in the towel.

Because he knows Chuck won't tap Phone Post

Wandy has never tapped either.

 I never thought of that.

skinnywussy - Wandy has never tapped either.

If remember yoshida had a tight guilotine on him for a very long time in their last fight Phone Post

Chuck's bio is worth reading. Yeah, it's not the deepest material, but I came to appreciate him more as a real, true, tough, badass fighter. He's the real deal and deserves all the respect he's been given.

His book is very good , I got it the day it was released.

One of my favorite fighters along with Lytle, Wand and a few others. They define the word fighter win lose or draw.

Would love to read a book on Lytle and Wand, wonder if they'll be one ? Phone Post

Ive said it a 100 times, I havent been excited for a fight, since he was retired... I look forward to certain cards, but nothing like when Chuck was about to fight. Watching him fight in 2004 got me into mma. Chuck will always be one of the greats.

skinnywussy - Wandy has never tapped either.

Wanderlie "The Axe Murderer" Silva has in fact NEVER TAPPED either.

NONE of those guys were able to make Wanderlei tap. Many of them never even were able to attempt a submission.

Just b/c Chuck Liddell has awesome take down defense, shouldn't be a knock on him that he hasn't been submitted. Last I checked, getting someone to the ground was part of the submission game.

Just b/c Wanderlei was hard to keep down and get good position on, shouldn't be a knock. Last I checked, to submit someone, you have to keep them on the ground long enough to land a submission, and submissions cannot be applied unless in the correct position.

Props to Chuck, Sakuraba, Wanderlei, and shout out to Holly Holm
