Pablo and Cyborg World champs !!!

The newly formed Avengers made their mark for the world to see at the 2010 No-Gi World's this past weekend in Long Beach, California. The Avengers who debuted at the Pan Am's in New York City two months ago continued their winning ways taking their talent to the west coast. Team leaders Pablo "weapon X" Popovitch and Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu both won their weight division in impressive fashion as well as shared the absolute championship with fellow training partner Marcus Vinicius Oliveira. Popovitch defeated 5x world champion Daniel Moraes in the finals with a dominating 6-0 score to win his 2nd No-Gi world title while Cyborg submitted both of his opponents to win his division. The Avengers lived up to their superhero like characteristics dominating the competition. Other team members that won titles are Ricardo Souza de Rezende who won the the medium heavy at purple belt as well as Will Durkee that captured the blue belt medium heavy gold. Brian Fuery took home the masters absolute Brown belt crown and Marcel Goncalves finished a strong 2nd at medium heavy in the brown belt adult. Up and comer a AJ Sousa finished 3rd at blue belt adult. Others members that fought hard but came up short are Fred and Jay Moncao as well as Yvon Agernord.

The Avengers will continue to train hard and will look to improve on their impressive 2010 performance in 2011.
