Pacquiao/Rios predictions

Lets hear it and why:

I am picking rios to stop pacquiao around 7-8. It pains me as pacquiao is my favorite. I just think Rios is a completely wrong fight for pacquiao at this point in his career. Too hungry and he has no problem walking through shots. If pacquiao is not 100% mentally and physically, I think we will be seeing the last of pacquiao on Saturday. Phone Post 3.0

Rios is so ordinary in every way other than his ability to walk through punches to press the fight. I think Manny will be too fast, and won't stand and trade enough to allow Rios to ever get into the fight. Now if Manny has slipped though, and finds himself getting into too many exchanges he could be in trouble

I'm curious to see how Pac will respond to a good shot after getting knocked out cold in his last fight.

If he shows no lingering effects then this will probably go like the Margarito bout. Rios has the same type of style so he'll probably get stopped at some point after eating too many flush punches.

You said it better than me. Phone Post 3.0

At this stage of his career, this is the perfect 'crossroads' fight for Manny. If he doesn't beat BR convincingly, then he should retire; if he smashes BR, then he still has a shot at FM ... maybe ..

Manny knows this, and imo will be slightly more cautious, try to grind BR down, and will go for a for a late stoppage.

It should be a really fun fight for as long as it lasts. I think that people might be reading too much in to the fact that Manny had lost two straight. Personally, I thought that Manny looked pretty sharp in the Bradley fight and simply got screwed on a bullshit decision. I also thought that he looked decent albeit a bit overzealous in the Marquez fight up until he got knocked out. I like Rios as a fighter, but I also think that he is a limited guy who simply has a big heart. I'll take MP by knockout inside of 8, but it should be fun for as long as it lasts. Phone Post

He schooled Bradley and he will make light work of BR. Phone Post 3.0

Rios is more of a clubber than a sharp puncher. He also doesn't move his head enough and eats too many shots. I think folks are over eating him based on the two fights with Alvarado. Yeah, he looked tough and strong but Gatti looked tough and strong against Ward too but looked shot against top notch guys around that same time. Manny is faster, harder punching, sharper punching, gives more angles and is more awkward than Alvarado. Rios won't have anywhere near the same level of offensive success against Manny.

Manny is the rare exception who I feel can put his KO behind him mentally, a la Duran doing so after Hearns crushed him. Plus, Manny has more at stake. His career and the emotional boost to his countrymen that a big win gives him.

Manny uses his speed and angles to befuddle and bust up Rios before scoring a highlight reel tko. Phone Post

Damn phone! People aren't over EATING Rios, they're over RATING him. Phone Post

pac is the downside. he let bradley hang in there close enough to let him steal a decision and then the so bad it still hurts ko to jmm, wouldn't be shocked to see him outworked and lose
