Pat Healy will beat Fancy Pants

Healy is a very solid wrestler with a vicious top game and good striking.

Healy gave Josh Thomson all he could handle.

Healy will outwrestle Lyle and do some damage while he is on the ground.

Lyle is tough, but Healy will be able to consistently score takedowns and win the fights by doing damage from the top.

Fancy Pants by guillotine

wow. with a sn like wrestler189, gotta feel like you're a bit biased towards wrestlers, no?

Healy beat Fancy?

The hell you say!

True...but I pick against wrestlers all the time.

I think when Healy is at his best, he can be top 15.

Fancy pants is a great fighter, but he does get taken down and isn't known for his guard (not to say it is bad, but I don't think he can sub Healy from there)

I am kind of rooting for Fancy Pants because I want him to be better than I think he is and he has a great story/record, but I just don't see it happening.

Fancy Pants via fancier pants

Fancy!

 Fancypants!

Lyle wins this tough fight.

It may be over for Healy  in the 1st few minutes.

how often is he at his best?  at some point you have to accept the fact that he just isn't top 15.

I don't think he should be ranked top 15, but he has the skill set to beat many fighters who are ranked around there.

He has the ability to be ranked there, he just needs to perform up to that ability.

I thought Healy took a job with Riceroni in Florida?

 No, no he won't.

Pat is coming off a loss from almost a year ago.

Lyle is ready, no rust, and coming off a huge string of wins (Obviously).

His last two fights were against guys with a combined 6-7 record, in my opinion that doesn't really count. His last REAL fight was against Shaolin back in May of 2010. Healy wins via classic Team Quest grindage.

 Agreed.

The Shaolin fight was really close due in part to Shaolin's ability to get a few takedowns. Obviously the way Shaolin took the back and almost subbed FAncy Pants a few times is something Healy isn't going to be able to do, but the takedown part of the game Healy is better at than Shaolin (that was written well).

Basically, a Shaolin with a ton of ring rust/injuries took down Fancy Pants multiple times. Why would a solid wrestler who trains with a ton of wrestlers and outwrestles other wrestlers in MMA not win the takedown battle against Fancy Pants?

Right, but this is a cage fight, not a takedown contest.

Right, but its still activity.

Beating a couple of "Nobodys" and staying active is much better than taking 8 months off.

Come on Fancy Pants. Whup him.

True

I think Healy wins the takedown battle. Lyle could certainly win, but he won't be able to do it due to superior wrestling.

I can't wait for this fight. Very good matchmaking

If Lyle wins, he has to fight Thomson

I was under the impression Lyle got a title shot after this?
