I actually didn't know Pat had a BJJ BB.
Rory Markham is much more of a contender than Sam is. Kid throws like his hands are made of cement. People just hit the mat almost everytime they get hit in the face Sam is more like a top/great defender, rather than a top contender Not trying to take anything away from Sam at all.

Quick question walter, I visited your website and in my opinion it kind of sounds like it bashes sport BJJ clubs
Yet you have a purple belt in BJJ, do you think "the basics" used in BJJ shouldn't be taught?

Chzog that question. Yes I now have a purple belt in BJJ but that was
awared based on performance. I primarily train in Judo and Sambo and
have only been to about 5 BJJ schools in my lifetime. I am not trying to
say all BJJ schools are bad but all the ones I have been to are bad in my
opinion. You generally learn one or two techniques a class and then
roll for 2 hours and the head instructor kicks your ass and doesnt tell
you what your doing wrong or how to get better. I am not a big fan of
this type of learning or training and the structure of our school is
different from that. I actually just attended a De La Riva Seminar not to
long ago and it was great. We are an MMA school where all of our
programs in someway or another relate to each other in the way we
teach. I am not saying all BJJ schools are like that or trying to bash any
sport. I like all grappling arts and think any art has something to offer
and you are a limited fighter or student if you are not open to new
things.
