Does anyone else think this?
If anyone follows Cote on Twitter, you would have noticed he's been doing alot of wrestling in his training for this fight. He probably knows that Cung is the more technical striker and if he stands with him he will have a good chance of losing.
Plus look at Cote's last fight in the UFC against Tom Lawlor, where Lawlor outwrestled him and won the fight via top control. I've seen it before where guys lose like that and come back with the mentality "Well if thats the way other people are winning then I'll do it too"
I really hope I'm wrong here because if this happens then it will rob the fans of a potentially great fight, but I really do believe this will be Cote's gameplan.
Have you forgotten like everybody does that Cung Le is a very good wrestler?
Cote will eat a bunch of strikes in the first round, he has a terrific chin. Then blast Le in the second.
Cote will win if his foot work and head movement have gotten better.
explodin -voorhees - Have you forgotten like everybody does that Cung Le is a very good wrestler?
I've never seen any sign of this in any of his fights. If you consider him a good wrestler name some bad wrestlers in the UFC at 185lbs
better question is...have you ever seen ANYONE take Cung Le down?
explodin -sinceufc2 - I don't remember seeing anybody take Le down. I think he was an all state wrestler in high school.
Frank Shamrock rag dolled him then let Cung back up a couple of times.
your definition of rag dolled is very liberal
sure he will.. he struck with Anderson Silva!
sinceufc2 - It's possible my memory is playing tricks on me but I recall Le easily keeping the fight standing against Frank and Shamrock having no choice but to stand with him. I could be wrong.Shamrock chose to stand. He let him up multiple times and jokingly invited Cung into his guard at a point or two.

inf0 - sure he will.. he struck with Anderson Silva!

Cote can take a shot. Cung will gas and Cote takes over after half way.
Le takes this one. TKO 2nd.
Cung a better striker in MMA than Silva? Cote was all about standing with Anderson and took his best shots. I think he stays true to his roots.
Shamrock never ragdoll Le. Rewatch the fight. Additionally, Cung looked quite overweight in the Silva fight. Like he hit several Asian buffets before hand. Was very disappointed with the shape Cung was in.
Shamrock got soooo outclassed in that fight! ragdolled my ass!
Cote went toe to toe with Drew McFedries and won that war, was awesome since McFedries did a little taunting.
Cote by KO in the first.
There is no way on earth Cote knocks out Cung. Cung Le will kick fuck Cote into a Bolivian
other than being GSPs homeboy why is this dude even back in the UFC....
BO-RING!
Edit: Figured it out... tuneup fight for the Tekken dude
Vermonster - other than being GSPs homeboy why is this dude even back in the UFC....
