As the UFC growsare we seeing a pattern of behavior from hte athletes we though were our heroes? Randy and hughes? Others will begin to show their true colors as well. Here is my theory. What is the lowest common denominator? DANA and the UFC! When you work for scumbags, and trust me, I was in the car biz for years, you tend to become like them when it comes to dealing directly with them.
My managers were such dirtbags. I was the nice sales guy who was very unassuming and good at my job. Always did the right thing. The guy everyone liked. But when I saw them being shady, it cause me to become shady back to them. Not to my customers or co-workers, but directly back at management. I would make demands that I knew they would fold to just becasue they were shady.
Do we see that happening now in the UFC? I think those guys are solid people but when you back good people into a corner, you get bit in the arse.
Fighters are much better businessmen than rich Italian Casino owners who took a struggling fight organization and turned it into a mega profitable business.
Nobody said anything about being a good businessmen. They are great businessmen. I said that the guy they (fighters) work for is a shady piece of crap. Dana. When you gte used to seeing the shady piece of crap make shady decisions, you begin to deal with him on his level. That is all I meant.
We will see how good the owners are as soon as the UFC gets even more mainstream. Dana will either be forced to stop dropping F bombs in interviews or they will get rid of him. Bob and Sally nobody could care less about who he is while still being fight fans.
Up to this point they have focused on fight fans and Dana has done a fine job. Soon they will have to being a campaign targeting new fans and Dana is not the guy you want to invite into your home on a Saturday night after dinner.
I would totally invite Dana to my home after dinner - that is if he picked up the check of course.
don't disrespect THE DANA
