PC: That's a good deal man. I'm glad to hear that. My phone has been blowing up because word got out that you are working with UFC lightweight/welterweight BJ Penn. How did that come about?

FM: Well, you know his strength and conditioning coach is Robert Garcia. Robert was Oscar's strength coach when I was with him, so he brought BJ down and we doing some stuff together. He was only supposed to be down here for a week, but he said he's learning so much that he's gonna stay two. If they really want to win this thing and look good, I would like to have him for 3 to 4 weeks, but trust me…the stuff I'm showing him in these 2 weeks will work if he uses it; trust me.

PC: How is the chemistry so far?

FM: BJ Penn is a cool dude man. I'll be honest, at first, it didn't seem like he could fight that good. I mean, I don't know about his ground game and all of that stuff, but he's got some pop and in just the 3 days I've been working with him, he has improved man. In his words, man, he told me, "I ain't never seen some of this stuff you're showing me man." And that's only after 3 days. BJ is learning fast man. He's a good guy.

PC: His next opponent is Jon Fitch, who is a wrestler and will have a height and size advantage…

FM: (Cutting in) Yeah, I heard he is about 6 foot tall and cuts a good bit of weight to make 170 pounds, but guess what? If BJ throws his shots the way I got him throwing his shots, he will win. See, those guys throwing shots different than the way we do it, so I'm teaching BJ how to keep it standing and be effective. Let me tell you something man, if he uses it, then it will work.

PENN FOR WORLD DOMINATION IN 2011!

That's BJ's ONLY chance to win this: standing.

Smart move

Lol @ the shot at Roach. 2 weeks isnt much though, but hopefully Mayweather helps him out technically.

War BJ

BJ already lost. He'll have new confidence going in, but once fitch takes him down or lands a strike, BJ will revert back to the defeated kid we have grown to love Phone Post

bj will probably go on a tear of knockin' the shit out of juiced opponents.

Fitch already lost. He'll have new confidence going in, but once BJ takes him down or lands a strike, Fitch will revert back to the defeated kid we have grown to love.

incorrect..bj has the ability to take fitch down...not that he will, but he can

I sure hope BJ wins. It'll be tough though, hopefully he is also working takedown defense. We all know his hands are better, but that wont stop him from Fitch grinding it out...

i honestly hope he knocks fitch the fuck out!

1,000th post muddafukka's!

+1

BJ should be working with Team Quest for this one. If I were to bring in a boxing coach, I'd rather bring in Mike Tyson. Mayweather's style is not for MMA. Tyson's peek-a-boo is ideal for smaller, faster, hard hitting fighters. Not saying that they have a similar style or movements, but Mike KNOWS HIS SHIT and would probably be better versed in the intricacies of MMA than Floyd.

Obvious troll is obvious lol.

Sorry if this answered awhile back, but WTF happened to Penn and the Marinovich Brothers?

Yeah, what happened to them? They helped BJ A LOT! Because of them BJ took Diego's soul and destroyed Kenny Florian. I think BJ should train with F. Roach, but then again GSP trains with him so I don't know.

This is absolutely retarded... BJ needs to be focused on one thing and one thing only:

Wrestling defense... specifically Defense against wall and stall and lay and pray. That's it.

He should be at team quest or a place where there's some fucking monster wrestlers. He needs to be training with ryan bader, aaron simpson, etc... not with a fucking boxing coach.

Funny how GSP trains with Roach for 3 days or so, now Penn is training with Mayweather Sr. for a couple weeks (even though I think Penn trained with Roach for like a day or two a while back).

GSP was going gaga when talking to Manny in the Philippines, wonder if Penn is now Team Mayweather.

Guess GSP/Penn are aligned with Manny/Floyd respectively. They just can't get along! :)

Hopefully he can spend a little time with Jr. and learn something from Floyd Jr.'s gym rat habits. That's the one good thing you can say about Floyd Jr., he works hard.

I hope this puts to rest the talk of BJ being lazy and not trying to improve his skills. He's also taking some privates from Sergio Penha while he's down in Vegas.

BJ always brings in excellent wrestlers into his camp, this one will be no different. He will have Jake Clark back helping him and other top notch wrestlers as well.

To think that BJ shouldn't work on the rest of his game is just dumb. Any chance he gets to improve on something whether it's his striking, wrestling or BJJ, he should be taking advantage of it.
