People are ridiculous

That fight showed absolutely nothing in terms of Slice's ability as a fighter. It didn't prove that he has a glass jaw, nothing.

He got caught cold coming out very aggressively by a punch that he never saw right on the chin. It was very early in the fight, and that could happen to absolutely anyone.

Some of the best boxers in history have been knocked out, many in the VERY first round on an apparant fluke, but shocking turn of events. It happens!

4oz gloves are serious, and if someone catches you on the tip of the chin... you can go to sleep. Kimbo got caught. So what? Seth did a perfect job, jumped all over him and pounded until the ref stopped it.

That said, I'll be tuning in when Kimbo fights again. He's still an entertaining fighter who comes out to put on a good show. He suffered a setback last night, but realistically that's nothing more then a fluke shot that he never saw, coming from a very wierd angle from an unorthodox karate guy. It happens.

suicide watch for the kimbo fanboys.

Yeah, no big deal. Lot's of top HW's get KO'd by a 1-legged jab when fighting unranked 205'ers. No biggie!

yes, actually a lot of guys have been ko'd by awkward shit.

Apparantly, no one understands the premise of being caught cold.

And a 205er is cutting down from heavyweight. Petrozelli weighed 220 or so in there to Slice's 235. That was a heavyweight fight.

and I've enjoyed watching Kimbo's fights... but I've also understood that he's a guy without ANY experience learning on the job.

People saying he could beat Fedor, etc. were always idiots.

That said, I was, and am still impressed with what he has accomplished without ANY kind of fighting backround other then a couple of bs streetfights.

His win over Thompson, Ray Mercer, and Tank were impressive for a guy without any experience at all.

Last night, he got caught. It happens.

Kimbo's posse approves of your thread. But I dont, he lost get over it.

lol, I'm sure I'll live.

Everyone loses, it's a part of the fight game. I've been fighting and watching this shit my entire life, as have most of you guys. I've learned a little something along the way... fighters fight. They win, they lose... it's a part of life when you are a fighter.

You're an idiot, your hero got exposed, please cut your wrist and go jogging.

I'm just happy you spelled ridiculous correctly!

not my hero, not an idiot, the guy was hardly 'exposed,' simply got caught with a good shot. I think people like you were sitting around waiting for the guy to lose to jump for joy and act like pathetic fucking imbeciles.

I could care less, I'm simply stating my honest opinion that last night's fight meant shit in terms of the guy's potential and ability. He got caught with a good punch from an awkward angle that he never saw. It happens to the best. Am I saying that Kimbo is the best? No. He's always been a guy with absolutely no experience learning on the job. I agree that a lot of people hyping him up were well over the top, and out of control. I understand though, it's a business, and Kimbo has an intimidating presence. People feed off of that, and his style of fighting... so they hype him up. It is what it is.

I truly believe a lot of people out there are fucking idiots. They root for a guy one day, spit on him the next... then you have guys that sit there, HATEFUL, SPITEFUL, waiting and waiting for their opportunity to jump for joy at someone else's demise lol. A good example is Floyd Mayweather, amazingly talented guy that get's disrespected by clowns like bkdrchoker waiting for him to lose so he can make some dumb ass comment about how he always knew he sucked, blah blah blah and call people like me (who simply states an educated opinion) a "hugger" blah blah blah and I should kill myself lol.

I could care less that Kimbo lost... it happens to everyone. I'm simply telling the morons to stfu with the "i told you so" baby shit. Everyone loses, of course he was going to lose at some point, and I find it pathetic to watch all these hateful fucking couch warriors rejoice like it's the greatest thing that even happened to them lol.

IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT!!!!!

UCPugilist - I think in alot of ways people are hating Skala, and how Kimbo was promoted, not on Kimbo.

that's exactly what it is. People hate the way he's been promoted. If I'm a guy in Kimbo's position, I roll with that. I'm making a lot of money to roll with that.

I suppose you can say that with that hype comes a lot of responsibility and criticism... but the reason for the hate is definitely due to the way he's been promoted.

Either way, Kimbo has been severely overhyped.

TalkShowOnMute - Either way, Kimbo has been severely overhyped.

Definitely.

kimbo would certainly look better in a rematch, but would probably lose on the ground eventually. i actually woulda rather seen that than a flash ko in :14

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Type all you want. The reason you ever joined this forum got KTFO'd by the Karate Kid.

Now go away and never return.

Kimbo got Sliced.

The only thing as ridiculous as the fairweather fans and the smug "I told you so" types is the guy that creates a thread just to admonish them for daring to post such atrocities on an internet forum. Calling forum members "pathetic fucking imbeciles" goes a long way toward making you look like one.

The "learning on the job" chop doesn't carry as much weight when EliteXC tries to put him over as an unstoppable juggernaut.  The derision should be mainly toward the organization, not Kimbo.

LMAO at "but realistically that's nothing more then a fluke shot that he never saw, coming from a very wierd angle from an unorthodox karate guy. It happens."  If the rest of what you posted seemed more coherent, I'd think you were trolling.

Ah, what the hell. I'll give you a 6.4 anyway. ;)

"That said, I was, and am still impressed with what he has accomplished without ANY kind of fighting backround other then a couple of bs streetfights.

Uh, I think he had been training full time with Bas Rutten for over a year before he fought these guys.

op's point might be valid, but that is the absolute weakest punch i've ever seen drop someone.

Kimbo thought he was going to use the ol' bouncer, here I come to escort you out technique,

He walked up to him square and got pushed kicked and punched...no head movement, no "welcome to boxing tape side 1" Bas Rutten tapes....

anyone with any ability would have caught him in a matter of time.
