To all the people with stocks, how have you been dealing with them?
Are you selling or holding on to them hoping for a turnaround soon?
Im Canadian but I have money in American and Canadian mutual funds and they are not safe either. I just liquidated everything so now Im just holding American and Canadian cash.
Ill reinvest at some point but right now cash is the safest. Also, thinking about Gold and Silver.
If you waited till just now to go cash, you made a mistake IMO. What are we, already a third down? We can go lower sure, but by how much at this point? And will you be buying back in much higher than you sold just now?
So many of my coworkers have just left their 401k’s alone. It’s like everyone has been so brainwashed into the “leave it in there and forget about it” mantra that they didn’t recognize how hard this was going to hit their acct value.
I sold all my stocks that had profits this morning. For the year I’m -$76 so I’m cool with losing less than $100 for the year.
The rest of the stocks I’m holding onto are losers, but at least give me a decent dividend. I’ll buy some more stocks later in the year instead of trying to catch falling knives like I’ve done over the past few weeks.
I don’t have the balls to buy any of those 3X Inverse Funds, I guess that’s where the money is at now.
We've lost 200k, but I'm leaving in there and trying to find ways to put in more. A freind is literally taking out home equity to buy into the market. I'm certain this will rebound within a year.

It certainly is going to hit it hard. But other then society being over. Is it not going to come back up if I am not retiring for 20 years?
Not planning on cashing out for around 10 - 15 years so, I'm riding it out. I have a small percentage in precious metals and bitcoin but those aren't going to make up for what is happening. Dollar cost averaging save us all.

Hopefully you'll break even in 10-15 years. Good luck buddy.

we are at the same level as before the 2016 election… If we can get this behind us with this one stimulus package only… its not out of the question that things cant get back to 29 000 on the dow before 2024.
It will go back up once this is all over. No point in selling now.
And if people hadn’t panicked initially and instead just sat there and did nothing, the price wouldn’t have moved at all. Investors are the architects of their own misfortune.

Stock market has never been down 10 years except for in the Great Depression. The last few crashes have taken 5 years to recover. If it takes 25 like the Great Depression; it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
I’m just glad I’m not retiring now, would definitely suck to stop working now where you can’t dollar cost average with more cash because you stopped working.
The recovery takes so much longer than the crash. Good luck guys.
Other than my wifes 401k which will just sit for a long while, as she is a decade younger than I.
Everything I have is cash, gold, or property. Not gold on paper, physical gold. It could go up or down, don’t really care unless it is extreme. I feel it is safer than cash for holding it’s value at this time.
It is not looked at as an investment to me, so much as just a safe way to store money, with little chance of it losing much value.
Actual dollars may get funky with their value if this shit continues long enough.
