People who dont watch Boxing watched FMjr last nit

It was the biggest event in the last few years, imo....

And Floyd put on an amazing performance to show he is the best boxer alive right now, and if not one of the greatest of all time.

I don't watch boxing. Watched last night. Was reminded why I don't. If that is the best boxing has to offer I'll stick to MMA. Phone Post

People can't appreciate a guy so far above the competition it looks like nothng is happening. I find it amazing that floyd can make top pro's IN BOXING look like amateurs, AND he can do that to anyone. My heart was with Pac, but Floyd would have made him look silly.

I haven't watched a boxing PPV since the Tyson days. I have to say the card as a whole was pretty good. The first and co-main event were the best fights. PBF and Canelo was pretty more a one sided fight going for May. My fav fight of the night was actually the Danny Garcia one. Phone Post 3.0

I didn't. Phone Post 3.0

I enjoyed the Garcia fight but the Mayweather fight with the exception of 2-3 rounds was the same old jab then avoid punches....gets old quickly

He's definitely talented, but look who his competition is. He got gifted a decision over a past his prime de la hoya. Phone Post

Floyd's performance was masterful. His ringmanship, footwork, jab, head movement, ability to change levels and dictate the pace are just some next level shit. I'm a fan of greatness and any time Floyd boxes, I'll be watching.

Oh and if you didn't thoroughly enjoy the Garcia-Matthysse fight you're probably retarded.

Floyd was "gifted a decision" over a guy that he outlanded 207 punches to 122 and 138 power punches to 82. Makes sense.

Don't forget how Floyd landed roughly 50% of every punch he threw whereas Oscar landed only around 22%.

Overall, I thought the fight was boring.

Floyd is great at avoiding punches. He works the Philly Shell, moves his head well, his footwork is good, his jab was on all night, he was moving in and out quickly, he was staying just out of reach of Canelo's punches, his hand eye coordination is great.

He didn't really try to fight for a finish. It was mostly jab and avoid getting hit. He's great at that, but if you can make the guy look like an amauter by avoiding his punches and jabbing him, you should be able to figure out a way to finish him.

It seemed Floyd's best chance at finishing was when he had Canelo up against the ropes. Canelo just doesn't have the movement/speed to avoid Floyd's punches. Floyd T'ed off on him a bit from there, but not enough for the finish. He held back.

Canelo was a bit more conservative than I expected which contributed to a less exciting fight.

Co-main was a good fight...

But I can't watch that circus. Not a respectable person in sight. Phone Post 3.0

Garcia v Mat was a sick fight. Last round rates as one if the best rounds in recent history. Phone Post

I love boxing and have loved boxing since I was kid. I love seeing great boxing matches and last nights show had 3 really entertaining fights IMO.

It surprises me when mma fans who will quickly say "styles makes fights" and can also appreciate grappling matches with no knock outs say boxing at the level we saw today is boring.

To me, it shows a fundamental lack of awareness and ignorance of what's happening. My father, who before he passed away was a life long martial artist and boxer, couldn't see the technical brilliance of mma ground fighting. He didn't appreciate it because he didn't understand the technicality. To me it's like someone calling wrestling gay because guys are touching each other on the ground. Pointless to argue against that idea. It's just ignorant.

I believe a lot of the haters fall into the same category. and that's fine, but ill still love the stand outs in the sweet science and other geniuses in combat sports. Phone Post 3.0

it wasn't the best just the biggest.

GGG, baby!!!

I think that performance is up there, but not in front of his Masterclass over Diego Corrales.

Floyd was beyond brilliant last night. He was leagues ahead of Canelo.

I think with his Dad in his corner he can only get better, IMO. And that's insane given Floyd's age and achievements.

Saying that though, Floyd looked like he went out for a light jog come the end of the fight. His legs are still fresh, his defense was INSANE and his ringmanship is on another level.

He is going to beat Marciano's record, you watch!

are you serious? put on an amazing performance?

I was disappointed two very good boxers put on a lackluster show. Typical Mayweather backpedaling and unwillingness to go for a TKO or KO, he's the GSP of boxing, "I won't try to finish him, I'll just grind out a decision win"

BUT on the other side, Canelo didn't try to stalk Mayweather and try to finish him in any way, shape or form. Not aggressive at all. Both boxers left without a scratch on their faces..

Floyd looked fantastic. There was one point where Canelo threw a wild body punch and missed Floyd and punched the ropes and Floyd stopped and looked at the shaking ropes almost if to clown him and say "Wow Really???" I tried to point it out but everybody seemed to miss it. Anybody else catch that??? Phone Post 3.0
