Weight class. Does anyone know? It seems like a LOT of fighters that fought on the show that are still on the roster fight at a different weight class than they fought at on the show (Excluding HW's and several others). The one reason that comes to mind is someone might fight out of their weight class just to get a chance to be on the show and be in the UFC. Discuss.

Exactly, you have to take whatever opportunity comes your way, especially in the earlier days. Some can't afford to sit around and wait for their specific weight class to be chosen.
Open weight TUF, make it happen.
Frobenius - Open weight TUF, make it happen.
That would be insane

The nature of the show means fighters have to cut weight three or four times in the space of 6/7 weeks so the guys selected tend to not be those who are massive at their weight. Many of them only cut about ten lbs and so end up being small in their weight class when they get to the big show. That and doing anything to get to the UFC account for pretty much everyone who's gone down the weights.
