The Australian Shooto Commission can confirm the first match up for the "NHB" Melbourne Shooto Show.
Anthony Perosh (SPMA, NSW) vs Sam Nest (RINGS QLD) under 91kg.
More matches to be announced soon.
ooooh ooooh ooooh!!! great match up!!
...is this for the show on the 12th of feb?
im going down for this one!!!!!!!!!
lets go anthony!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do it for the cowards
Everyone wins!!! My money is on Sam but I'm only willing to bet a dollar.
Go Sam.
congrats to the promoters - great match up
who wants to have a bet. Ill take perosh
Wow, stellar match!!!
I think Anthony will be too technical and powerful for Sam at 91kg.
Regards
Gerald.
excellent match up, shame it's in VIC but...
will be cheering for sam..
Seeing as I said this would be a good match up straight after Perosh's debut I think it should be held on the Gold Coast:)
Seriously though this is a great match up. Sam will be busy with Perosh in Feb and Griffin in March. Good luck 2 both the guys.
Damn I hope there is some cheap flights around that time.
Well done match makers! I would not have even thought of this one, and what a great fight it will make! Good on Sam stepping up to the plate and Anthony cutting down to 91. Lucking VIC MMA fans. I might have to fly down for this fight alone.
Go sam!!! Can't wait to hear the result.
sweet match up! if they are all as good as this one .....what a night!
This is a stellar match !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanna see it baad :):)
I am going for Anthony. But Sam always seems to find a way to win.
Go Perosh !
Kym
PS: This is cool :)
For thos looking for cheaper air tickets, Virgin Blue are having a 48 hour sale (ends midnight 16 Jan). For example, tickets from Brisbane to Melbourne are $99 for travel between 17/1 - 5/4.
Great matchup . I am so excited about this ....even thought anthony is still new to mma , cant see him losing .
Sam is really looking forward to this fight, as much it seems as all the fans. Definitely a pity that's in the new MMA 'backwater' called Melbourne though - what will Sam do without me and my bucket??? ;-)
If Anthony can get down to 91kg and maintain strength and fitness, then I think we will all be very interested to learn his weight cutting secrets (seriously) - I will be very impressed. He looked like he had nothing spare at 99.9kg!
Taking on a BJJ blackbelt, followed by American Forrest Griffin, should make it patently obvious to all that Sam is looking to step up the level of opponent he faces, and really push for impact on the world stage. If he gets by these two, the world will surely be his. Reward comes with risk though - both of these fights will push Sam where he's never been before. He couldn't be happier!
I love living in Melbourne.. !! Melbournians know how to sell out a show, and this one will be no different.
What a match-up, Sam is an awesome competitor. But there is something about Perosh, he reminds me of a terminator.
Great Match-up!
Cadmus ,
Can you give me a rundown on Sam Nest . His skills I mean , i know he has won all his fights here and against good guys . What is has background and who does he train with ?
Thanks
Aaron, Sam originally started in Zen Do Kai, and also did a few TSK tournaments. He now basically trains with Chris Haseman and Bill Turner for ground work, and with Ian Bronson for stand-up. He also likes long, romantic walks on the beach, and likes sunsets, but thinks sunrises are even better...
