Shogun is 1 of the greatest fighters to ever live.

He was a natural MW (even a WW with deiting) who fought his entire career at LHW racking up the greater pure record of any CLEAN non-steriod LHW ever

At 1 point in time, for how ever brief it was, until all the injuries started, Shogun was the #1 p4p in all of MMA

Shogun fought about 85% of his career injuried yet still accomplished so much

Always entertaining. Always a professional. Always just showed up and fought with everything he had!

And even when injuries had already ravished his physical prime, Shogun improved his boxing skill tremendously, and kept winning fights against stronger healthier larger opponents due to his fight IQ!

UFC Shogun may have been ravaged by injuries already, but the improvements in his boxing skill, footwork, and IQ lead to some of the greatest KOs in UFC history

  • 1st Coleman fight was a NC (freak injury)

  • 1st Machida fight was a robbery

  • 1st Hendo fight was a draw

  • 1st Paul Craig fight was a win

  • Osp rematch was a robbery

SHOGUN’S ONLY REAL LOSSES ARE

  • Renato (green)

  • Forrest (injury and avenged)

  • Jones (injury, on short notice, and fought the biggest steriod cheater in MMA who was 3 weight classes bigger)

  • Gustafsson (very very close loss, every round was arguable, except only Gus’s last round while Shogun won the 1st round very clearly)

  • Sonnen (underestimated opponent greatly, fought dumb, and made a terrible mistake. Wins that fight 8/10 times)

  • Hendo rematch (Shogun was robbed of a 1st round KO win. Mousasi got a stoppage over Hendo for much less)

  • 1st OSP fight (another Sonnen peformance where he underestimated the opponent and made terrible mistake. Avenged)

  • Anthony Smith (another Sonnen performance. Another bum who a Shogun fighting with a gameplan beats 8/10 times)

  • Paul Craig rematch (weird weird fight where Shogun looked like he was drugged)

WHAT WE CAN DECIPHER AND INFER

Shogun rarely ever lost legitimately. Jones and Gus would be his only tough match ups 8/10 times. The majority of the guys Shogun lost to, we know Shogun would smash them 8/10 times fighting smarter. Shogun was far better than most of the guys he lost to (ex: Shogun smashes Sonnen, Smith, Osp etc 8/10 times). Shogun was either robbed blatanly multiple times or out right avenged his losses

Thoughts @danawhite brother?

Shogun has always been very under rated IMO. 1 of the greatest to ever do it. All things equal he was better than everyone he fought with Jones and Gus being his only 2 really badly matched opponents (and the Gus fight was still close)

Lol @ you. He fought for the UFC, so that qualifies him for a job. What job would he have? Chuck’s do nothing job was axxed real quick when Endevour took over the UFC, and Chuck actually had job skills that UFC could use.

Hopefully they do with Shogun with what they did with BJ Penn after his career. They can open up UFC in gyms in Brazil with Shogun having part ownership.
