Why not petition a real problem like Nike's use of child labor and sweat shops in 3rd world countries. Oh that's right first world problems about a rich successful athlete are more important

Yeah! Let's stop Nike from giving these people in third world countries a JOB! Let them and their families starve! I bet you ask 90% of the works are thankful they are working. Phone Post

Wow man, you are a terrible human being. Seriously just wow.

What did he say that is wrong? I am thinking you are probably an extremely naive person.

Online petitions are so dumb. Phone Post

"Do you both have no idea what the word exploitation means?"

Do you have any idea how those people live? Do you think they feel exploited?

Most jobs in general, even in the US, you could say somebody was exploited.

Ignorance? They know exactly what the fuck is happening. They can LIVE off of those wages, actually have pretty happy lives (compared to your average American). Those jobs are competitive to the alternatives that they have.

You are naive as fuck dude.

kinkle - Jon Jones isn't fucking Pacquiao, Lebron, or Tiger. The top football sponsorships are around 1 million dollars, Jon Jones is not more popular than ANY top football player, you must be crazy to think he is getting a couple million of anything.

That's because Nike sponsors the entire NFL and then sponsors 45 of their athletes athletes individually.  In MMA, it's 1-2 athletes.  Can't believe you're still on this crusade to convince others it's $20K annually, when your only source back pedaled and apologized for releasing an incorrect number.

So you're basically just saying it's $20K because you feel that's what it should be?

I didn't even read your post, I am done discussing this issue with your dumbass.

Lol doesn't Nike get involved in all kinds of classy shit such as child labor?

In a perfect world the government would use threads like this one to remove defects from the human gene pool.

excellent post sir, but nike is more likely to frown on what appears to be an insolent slave than they would of thier prestigious roiders and adulterers.

Part of Nike’s sponsorship strategy is focused on associating the company with top athletes, even if it is not a sport they necessarily will release a lot of sales from. In some cases, they can create a whole product line around a superstar, as they did with Woods (Nike Golf sales peaked at $725 million in 2008), but in the case of Pacquiao, it was the opportunity to latch on to the most marketable figure in what is a worldwide sport, not to mention someone ranked #33 on Forbes Magazine’s recently-released “most powerful celebrities” list. They know they’re not going to go too far with Nike boxing gloves, for example, but his celebrity has a presence just about everywhere, and there is tremendous value to be found there. In addition, Nike enjoys actually receiving feedback from the athletes themselves, as well as getting them to beta test the products, and Pacquiao has been somewhat useful in that regard. he has been seen, for example, demonstrating the company’s sensor-filled shoes, which it feels will eventually have a great influence on the way people work out.

NIKE officials 'amused' by Dana White's 'false' report of dropping

Well, UFC President Dana White told media members at last week's UFC 150 post-fight press conference that NIKE was "shutting down the Manny Pacquiao line and starting up the Jon Jones line."

Not true, according to a report from the gang at Boxing Scene.

In fact, the Pacquiao line "is selling very well" and the company "has some other things going" that would involve the Filipino pugilist, who came under fire back in May for candid remarks about his stance on gay marriage. NIKE felt the heat from the gay and lesbian community, but ultimately stuck by the eight-time world champion.

Signed. At 796 as of two second ago.

They gave dog torturer, Michael Vick a new contract the second he got out of the pen, but you want them to drop Jones for not taking an extremely short notice fight when much of his UFC career from Gusmao to Bonnar to Shogun to Machida to Vitor next month has been built on short notice fights?

Like brother Orcus wrote, Dana owns you dumb motherfuckers.

No Jones fan, but this is too far. Phone Post

Never ok to take away a man's lively-hood imo. Those guys deserve beatings.

Remember the part where Jones took away 19 other guys' livelihoods, along with all the people they work with?

So you're calling for Jones to get a beating?

Who took that away? Jones or Zuffa for putting on that bullshit card? UFC 137 was scheduled in the same venue and lost it's main event, yet it went on because it wasn't a top heavy event.

Please send this petition to as many people as possible. I realize that it may not do much in terms of actually getting him dropped from Nike... but we as MMA fans owe it to ourselves and the sport we love to make it as hard as possible for Jones to make money. Do whatever you can to help, whenever you can.

That is so messed up. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but then again you're most likely a troll. Phone Post
