Professional Fighters League (PFL) is gearing up to usher in a new era in mixed martial arts (MMA) later this month as its first-ever “Champion vs. Champion” event is set to go down on Feb. 24, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

While some of PFL’s champions will square up with Bellator MMA’s current title holders, there are several other intriguing non-title fights taking place on the stacked card. Among them is a Lightweight title between Clay Collard vs. A.J. McKee, which is the focus on the event’s first poster promoting the event.

Former UFC fighter and PFL season winner Sean O’Connell will man play-by-play duties, as he’s done since the start of the PFL tournament format in 2018. Coming over from the Bellator brand, Amanda Guerra will provide reporting and interviews from backstage and in the crowd. Josh Thomson will partake in a reporter role, but his will be from the corners, as he conducts interviews with the fighters’ teams.

Ian Parker will provide insight into the world of sports betting, as he’s done for the UFC and PFL in the past. Also breaking down the betting lines will be longtime sports personality Jonathan Coachman, who has previously worked as on-air talent for WWE and a pre-show analyst for PFL.

“V6 Bellator PFL Champs” is that what the belt says??? Wtf lol

Just read Jesus Pinedo is out as well so the Pitbull fight is scratched.

Pitbull is having the same problem Volk has, age.

He is 36 now and tried to go down to BW last summer in an attempt to become the first three weight champ in big promotion history and he failed and then like two months later he got offered a bunch of money to take a short notice LW fight in RIZIN when he was there as a cornerman and he got KOed. So he is still the Bellator FW champ but just lost 2x at two other weights and he is 36 now.

They should have kept the Pitbull fight a Unified Belt title fight since he is now fighting the other PFL finalist.

Just strip all the champs who can’t show up for the PFL vs Bellator Unified events and go on with the Unified title fights with the fighters who can show up if you can get a champ from one of the orgs to show up.

Sucks Magomedkerimov had to pull out. He has had injury issues in PFL as well and its a shame because he is like 16-1 in PFL and the most successful fighter they have ever had but has only won two of five season tournaments.

One year illness caused him to not make it to the finals after a win in the semis, one year visa issues cost him one of his fights to qualify for the tourny and he won two fights that season but one was a decision so he didn’t have the points to get in the 2022 tourny. In 2021 he lost to Cooper in the finals even though he already beat Cooper in the past. Lockdowns canceled the 2020 season.

Thats a fighter with just a little bit more luck and no point system could be a 5 or 6x PFL tournament champ but he is only a 2x tournament champ despite being 16-1 in PFL and having a win over the one fighter he lost to.
