Phil Davis defeats Tim Boetsch via "one-arm kimura." The first of its kind. Following the win Joe Rogan did his usual post-fight interview with the winner. When Rogan asked if Davis invented the move, he replied 'yeah.' Rogan quickly responded, 'lets call it the "Mr. Wonderful." Did we just witness the birth of a new submission?
Throughout the first round Boetsch looked to be getting tagged in the standing before the wrestler, Davis shot in with an explosive double-leg. From there it was the Mr. Wonderful show as Davis advanced and landed big punches to the ribs.
Second round was more of a struggle for Davis to take down Boetsch as he finally gets it but comes close to getting caught in a guillotine. From there Davis worked an interesting one-armed kimura for the win in round two.
The MMA newcomer Phil "Mr. Wonderful" Davis, has won all of his previous fights. This bout will count as number eight Davis' win streak. He was last seen defeating American MMA artist Rodney Wallace at UFC 117, where he won via unanimous decision. Davis has won two of his fights via KO and another two via submission. He holds a blue belt in BJJ and currently trains with Alliance MMA.
