Phil Davis says he'll submit Vinny? LOL

In addition to all this other smack he's been talking:

Magalhaes wants to fight Davis, or so he's been saying on Twitter for months. And because of that, yeah, you bet Davis wants to fight Magalhaes, if for no other reason than he wants to teach him a thing or two about call-outs.

And then there's this: "I had to double-check to see if this guy was even in the UFC," Davis said. "It comes down to this: You're talking? You've got to be walking. He hasn't gotten the whole walking thing down."

"The problem with this fight game is, a lot of people like to talk, but not a lot of people like to fight," Davis said. "And if you call somebody out, you are obligated to fight them. That's the way this thing works. He called me out while I was still in Brazil. Forrest Griffin got hurt (and Magalhaes) doesn't want to fight me on three weeks' notice. At that point, you need to shut up. But that's part of the fight game – guys like to talk."

"He's a fighter with one fight in the UFC, so just being on the main card should be a big deal," Davis said. "But being on one of the biggest fight cards of the year, co-main event, in the city you live in, and you already called this person out, so you're saying you want to fight this person – and you don't take that fight? I mean, there's only so many words I can call a person who would do something like that."

"Not only do I think I could take him, I'd have the advantage (on the ground)," Davis said. "In Brazilian jiu-jitsu, people have become so cocky that they think Brazilian jiu-jitsu is the end-all, be-all – and it's not. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a fantastic art to learn, and it's an amazing skill to add to your arsenal. But sometimes, when you become too good at one thing, you become arrogant and you don't learn other things. Just to be 100 percent real about it, wrestling is a much stronger art form than Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

"Can I submit Vinny? Guys, we're getting crazy, here. Absolutely."

"Not only will I fight him, but when I say I'll fight somebody, if you show up at my gym, we'll fight," he said. "If I see him in the parking lot at the UFC, we'll fight. Once I say we'll fight, it will happen when I see your face. There is no three weeks' notice, none of this silliness. If you can't fight, say you can't fight. But if you want to fight, then you have to take the fight."

He can hurt him with strikes and sub him, but not in a straight grappling match Phone Post

I think he may have meant "submit to" Vinny.

Should be an interesting battle of wrestling vs Jiu Jitsu.
Stand up wise I think they are dead even. Phone Post

Is he talking about that tickle-jitsu that was in another thread today? Phone Post

I don't see Vinny managing to take Phil down so Phil will decide where they go and maybe it'll be a complete striking match.

Phil Davis is growing on me.

Thems fighting words!

Can't disagree with anything Phil said. Phone Post

I like this Phil Davis Phone Post

Well he is training with some of the best jiu jitsu guys in USA. I think he can control Vinny on top and not get submitted, but submit Vinny? At least not with the armbar.

Few will give Phil the credit he deserves for his candor due to the fact that Vinny posts here. But the truth is that Phil is 100% right here. Phone Post

Pride Wanderlei -  He can hurt him with strikes and sub him, but not in a straight grappling match Phone Post

^This.

You guys forget this is a MMA fight.

Stand up edge=Vinny

Submissions=Vinny

Grappling=close, wash

Athletic=Phil Davis

Horrible style match up for Phil. I'd sig bet on this fight if it was made, that's how confident in Vinny I am in this match up.

Where is this improved striking from Phil?

Wrestling-Phil

Striking- I'd say it can go either way.

Submissions- I see why you give it to Vinny but Davis has a bunch of wins by submissions. He doesn't have the BJJ pedigree Vinny has but he has the wrestling pedigree. I think Phil Dominates this fight quite easily but anything can happen. Phone Post

I meant to quote D241. If the time comes ill take that bet. Phone Post

Eh idk bout that one Phil.. Phone Post

If Vinny pulls guard and subs him.. would be awesome!

In an MMA fight, you never know. The BJJ community shit a collective brick when Frank Mir broke Roberto Traven's arm.

I would too Vinny I would too.....
