Photoshop Q&A(aka PhotoshopGround)

there seems to be some interest, so i figured let's make a thread, this may or may not lead to a PhotoshopGround and Kirik has no idea i'm doing this, but let's get to it!-----------first up: is rednamer colby and he is one of the OG's Romoshop All-Stars. when you see his work below, i'm sure you will agree he is one of the OG's elite photoshoppers.source pix:colby's photoshop:

2nd up: Lenny, another of the OG's Romoshop All-Stars offers advice on how to make a perfect circle ultimately to make the No symbol (red circle with line through it). Purple Dog posts a short cut to Lenny's method. ----------------From: Lenny
Date: 03/16/04 04:37 PM Yup. To make a perfect circle, click on the ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE TOOL in the top left of the toolbar. On the top bar on Photoshop, there is a STYLE drop down menu thing. Select FIXED ASPECT RATIO. Now just make the circle however big you want, and STROKE the circle. TAADAA! ...and I assume you can make the LINE yourself. If not, you just need to: Make a new layer. Switch from ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE TOOL to RECTANGULAR MARQUEE TOOL. Switch from FIXED ASPECT RATIO to FIXED SIZE in the STYLE drop down menu. Put the WIDTH in as the same pxls that you STROKED the circle as, and make the LENGTH longer than necessary. FILL selection with your color. ROTATE line 45 degrees. Move it to the center of the circle. Trim excess off edges of line to match circle. Merge both layers. FINITO. Easy as pie. -------------From: Purple Dog

here's a recent thread started by Musashi:opens new browserbasically it's about matching tones between layers. also dajuisher asks about skew/perspective

Good idea but isn't that kinda what On The Fridge is? Or are you saying that we need something more specific to just Romoshops?

what's on the fridge?

"what's on the fridge?"

LOL Stickgrappler!!!!

Great idea.... don't lose the info here, archive it on your site if you have to. :-)

mkirk1's photoshop tutorial:

Step 1.  Keep pressing buttons until something happens.

Step 2. Re-boot computer as often as necessary.

The end...

Oh, and here's one regarding David's addiction.

I have a question:

When creating circle selections, is there a way to make the selections the exact same size? For example, I created this and selected portions to delete, but want the portions to be the same size.

Yes, there are several ways to do this, and the pros prolly know a better way, but I will tell you how I would do it....

Make the shape of the selection object that you want to reuse. Right click on it and select SAVE SELECTION. Name and save it.

Then move the selection to the place on your pic that you want to delete the stuff in the shape of the selection, and select CUT. Your selection will disapppear, along with the selection shaped portion of the original pic.

Then just right click on the screen, and select LOAD SELECTION and the name you named the selection, and it is back again.

Repeat, ad nauseam.

You could also do this by making the shape on a seperate layer, and then using the WAND to reselect it when you need it....but the SAVE/LOAD SELECTION is still the cleaner and better way to do it IMO.

below is a cut and paste of one dajuisher did.----------

here's one by mkirk1:

Fuck on the fridge....too artsy.

And IMO the PSG would be for advice and shit, and 99% of it should be archived...as in it all being automatically archived and under the discretion of the PSG MODS to delete if it is redundant/repetetive advice or something.

As for having RS Challenges(if they ever return) and random PS-ings there....it would be cool if that stuff stayed here so people could see and enjoy it.

Sounds good to me.
