Please critique this technique (bicepcrush/sweep)

Yes, I'm a poet, and I know it...

Anyways, this is a technique I've been playing around with lately and having success. I'm just wondering what others think about it. Think it's legit and will continue to work? Think it's crap? Please let me know.

I like the sweep. The biceps crush, not so much.  You could switch to a Baratoplata as well.

Actually one of the times I used it the guy thought I was going to go for a baratoplata.

What don't you like about the crush. Maybe there's something you'd add to fine tune it a little. It's something new for me and I'd like to improve it some more. I have one idea that I thought of last night that I need to try out.

Matt I like it , Simple and efficient. Not so many steps that it becomes overly complicated. That's my Measuring stick for bjj moves.

PS Have not used this account in years but my name is Thrasher my wife "Beth" Started in your class years ago

Chris, thanks! I like to use as few moves as possible so I don't confuse myself! When are you and Beth coming back to the area? I was hoping you were going to come train the last time she dropped in.

Nothing wrong with your technique at all. I'm just wary of the biceps crushes in general.  I play alot of lasso guard and can pretty much catch a biceps crush from my back or a sweep at will.  I have found it to be a fairly unreliable sub as some guys will tap to it and some guys seem immune.  I have also seen a guy who was immune to the pain of the sub pop his biceps tendon fighting to get out of it.  He swears he didn't feel a thing until the tendon went.  I put it in a similar category as heel hooks.  I'm aware of the existence of, but I tend not to use.

The sweep is definitely something I'm going play with as my training partners have been fighting off the Baratoplata.

Thanks for the feedback! Let me know if you add any details to the sweep.

I used to be all fancy in making 17 step moves .. till I got yelled at :) and saw the light .
I was going to come but one of the kids was sick and Grandma had to work so had to play dad on vacation .
Probably wont be back until next summer NY is a long expensive trip . However there is a chance I will be doing traveling work this summer where home office is in Rochester

I've actually learned that fist submission but with your "triangle" facing the other way (your right ankle behind your left knee in this case). That keeps your opponent from using his left hand to open up your triangle --but-- it might change things for your sweep.

And similar to what papa november said, I've found those kinds of biceps crushes with an arm through, kind of "hit or miss" for me. I don't quite trust them. I also haven't put a lot of work into them.

Looks like a move I was shown called the ginger snap

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll try the triangle the other way tonight.

I'm actually not big on bicep crushes either but I thought about it at work one day and then started playing around with it in class and it worked.
