I don’t see how anyone can shit on Dustin’s in-ring work or fortitude.
When he fights he brings it.
Once the belt started coming into play he did get a bit annoying to me outside of the cage. Started talking too much, fighting less frequently, turning his nose up to certain fights etc.
Not really my thing, but I cannot begrudge a man for trying to take advantage of his biggest money-making window. I cannot say I wouldn’t do the same.
But when he steps in the cage? No complaints from this guy.
When you say “he talked too much”, what do you mean?
I’ve heard people say this but genuinely don’t know where it comes from. It’s not like I’ve caught every single one of his interviews but I didn’t sense any change in his attitude with capturing the belt or beating Conor.
I guess there were a few times he started saying he wouldn’t fight so and so unless he got paid X, or wouldn’t fight if the title wasn’t on the line, started talking a bit more trash without fights lined up, shit like that which he didn’t formerly do.
Nothing egregious by any means and I certainly don’t hate the guy. Dustin’s awesome still.
I guess it’s a compliment in way that Dustin had set such a high bar for himself that even the smallest hesitation to fight without large financial benefit or serious title implications wasn’t liked by some fans

Yeah I think so. He has always carried himself with class and humility. It’s one of the reasons I’m such a big fan.

Give some credit where it’s due Dustin! He was better than Gaethje but in recent fights Gaethje has shown a lot more discipline and control which really levels the playing field with Dustin.
Yeah it’s a stupid thing to say lol. Come on Dustin I’m trying to defend you. But things like this are passable, it hasn’t been that long since he lost, not even 48 hours. Give him a couple of weeks and he will be giving Justin more props. Dustin is still angry/sad/confused.

Being a judo guy, fan of Islam as well but Dustin is just the Man. Hard not to be a fan of that guy and be pulling for him.

Sucks that Dustin didn’t win and there are no moral victories but I thought he did great against Islam. I’m the biggest Dustin fan there is and objectively I didn’t think he was making it out of the 3rd round. To survive some of those bad situations (especially in round 1), stuff so many take downs in the middle of the cage, and have some big moments like the elbow that sliced Islam open he went out like a true warrior.
