Las Vegas, NV — Dana White has confirmed that Conor McGregor did indeed break his leg in the main event of UFC 264. And Dustin Poirier will get the next title shot.
“Second leg break in what, the last three fights or something? It sucks, it’s brutal, it’s not the way you want to see fights end,” White exclaimed during the UFC 264 post-fight press conference. “Dustin Poirier will fight for the title, and when Conor’s healed and ready to go, you do the rematch I guess. I don’t know.”
As to the status of the Irish star, White revealed to media outlets including Cageside Press that “he goes into surgery in the morning.”
So they’re just gonna give him a title shot if Dustin wins
The game was always stacked for this outcome. Don’t act surprised.
I fully expect it prior to the fight that just happened, if Dustin got the title before the rubber match

If Connor fights again he should fight some tune up fights to get his confidence up and shake some rust off.

Nah, the whole point of having Dustin fight for title is that hopefully he wins and then they can justify giving Conor the titleshot.

If Dustin sticks his neck out like he did against Conor than Charles will tap him. This fight is going to be great. I think Dustin will bring back the calf kicks on Charles. I see Charles working more takedowns on Dustin to work for a submission. I was shocked at how quick Charles shot that double on Chandler and took him down.
I think Dustin is an excellent fighter in all areas, a real solid professional prize fighter. However I think Olivera is gererally better and would favor him to win. But he’s no lock. Anything can happen in a fight at this level.

He literally has fought no one else ranked above him in the division. Obviously rankings don’t mean shit but…
