Portland, Oregon McDojo Check (Fake BB?)

This gym has been promoting a BJJ workshop on facebook

https://www.facebook.com/events/1667795093493432/

The website uses the term "Jiu Jitsu" but not BJJ, and the instructor / owner is a "Jiu jitsu blackbelt" but no mention of who he got his BB from, or when. Anyone know this guy?

One of the other instructors is a BB in Jeet Kun Do (Isn't that Bruce Lee's shit?)

Any help would be apprechiated.

Well fuck me for being blind! Thank you sir.

EDIT.

I see you linked a different website. I wonder why he has two?

But still, thank you

Looks like a nice facility and he's certainly in the right area to get that yuppy athlete dollar.  If he's using the name Impact I assume he's on the up and up as it'd be easy to uncover him as a fraud otherwise.

Meh. Seems kinda weak, but legit. I would just go to Portland Thai Boxing instead. Keisuke Andrews is the BJJ instructor. Plus, the Muay Thai is top notch.

Why so suspicious? Why not actually try the gym first or go take a look?

Time.

It's literally the most valuable thing we've got. A website says "jiu jitsu" and no real explanation of his background, its MUCH quicker and easier to ask on here than driving down there and hoping to speak with someone. I now see that he has 2 or 3 websites with his "bio" being different on them, so he's probably legit and its all good. But The website his BJJ facebook page linked didn't have that info, so I asked.

Keisuke is awesome and has his own school these days as well, think he only coaches 1x a week (if that) at PDX muay thai these days

12Six if you make it this way for the seminar you're considering drop me a line and we'll drag Rickstorm out and grab a beer.

I think one of his BJJ gyms is in Oregon city, I've been thinking about checking it out. Sounds like he's pretty legit, has anyone checked it out? Phone Post 3.0

Where to? Portland? I live here now.

We should definitely grab a beer or watch some fights soon!

Captain Epic - if it's near you I'd definitely check it out.  I have quite a few friends that make the trek there.

12six, didn't realize you were local.  We'll have to figure something out for sure!

I don't know him personally but he's affiliated with impact JJ so I'm going to say he's legit. Chapman is careful on who he let's use their name

Tony is legit. I used to train at impact. Phone Post 3.0

Also impact does regular cross trains at industrial strength. Phone Post 3.0

Speaking of Portland, moved here a few months ago from Sydney, what's the best place to watch fights? Last time I just went to a blitz and boozed up on my own but would love to know if I'm missing some awesome joint. Phone Post 3.0
