Really glad he’s doing better and off the ventilator. I was on one for 12 weeks and it destroyed my lungs and they’ll never improve.

Do your lungs become weak because the machine is doing all the work for so long?
The damage is caused by the over-pressure which stretches the lung tissue unevenly and weakens the lungs.
Especially when you go for longer periods of time. Some people never recover to 100%.
Always wondered why it caused damage.
